Personally, if I could end child abuse in all the world I would do that before ending animal slaughter, but only because the children are still alive and living with the consequences, as opposed to meat, which is dead and therefore doesn't mind being dead. But while they are alive, the animals are kept like shit and are living the consequences of those who keep them like that.
Sorry if that's confusing

Not every meat eater agrees with battery farming ffs.
And yea, I just think eating meat and saying "it's how we're supposed to be" is narrow minded and pathetic. Are we supposed to have electricity? We became more intelligent, that's why we have all the luxuries of today! And, therefore, if we can do THAT why the fuck can't we love animals like ourselves and not participate in there torture by paying for it!

YOU are being narrow minded if you think that the entire meat industry participates in the actions of a very few. Not all farmers treat their animals like crap, not all abatoires (sp?) kill animals in an inhumane way, not all chickens live in cages and NOT ALL ANIMALS BRED FOR MEAT HAVE A SHITTY LIFE. Maybe a lot of people DON'T understand where their meat comes from, but a vast proportion of us do, and make sure we're buying it from reputable places, look at the labels and don't buy into shitty practice. Again with the not buying from Tesco and Asda.
And yes, we became more intelligent, which means we found ways of producing our food which didn't mean we had to go out and hunt it.
There is no point arguing with these people Franki, these people are fuelled by information provided by the PETA members who hate anyone who doesn't agree with them and try to win arguments with the most flawed knowledge
I say this while eating a burger..

What's intelligence got to do with it?
Many of us do love animals. Just because I eat meat; doesn't mean I don't love animals.
That depends on entirely where you get your meat from. Free range anyone?
So if you watched child porn, you can still love children (not sexually)?
And free range still shows your support to the torture of other animals... by saying "I will eat an animal"

Some are veggies some arent, get over it.
lol.
My mother runs a fucking greyhound charity and I am being called an animal abuser. Fuck you, you stupid, ignorant, PeTA loving idiots.
I'm going by experience and what I believe, here. I appreciate that I'm not going to convert this entire thread to vegetarianism, but I'm trying to encourage you to look at this from my (and Crying Angel??)'s viewpoint. In return, I'll look through yours and try to appreciate why you eat meat.

HAHA!
Someones a grumpy guts today.

Eating free range says, "I do not support the torture of animals, I would prefer the food that I eat to be treated humanely if it is being bred for my benefit". It does not support the torture of animals, it supports the exact fucking opposite.
God damn it.
I believe that animals and people deserve the same measures of respect and treatment.

Do you people ACTUALLY know how animals are murdered?
C-A x
Child porn is something completely different and something I have no interest in at all.
Exactly.
Those of you saying "you lot are animal abusers" - I take it you don't wear leather or wool, eat egg, butter, cheese, etc.?
I refuse to apologise when I am not wrong. Being willing to eat an animal is not the same as wishing it harm. I do not eat meat that has been treated inhumanely. I do not eat battery eggs, I do not eat chicken that is not free range, I don't actually even eat beef or pork that much except for sausages/bacon FROM THE FREEDOM FOODS SECTION, but when we eat roast beef/pork we get it from the local butcher who sources it from the local farms and is very, very good.
As I have said repeatedly, if an animal is being bred for my consumption, I want it to be treated properly. See upthread where I said I had a cow named after me? That cow was later slaughtered for its meat. Did it have a happy life? HELL YEH IT DID. So did its mummy, and its brothers and sisters, and all the other cows that it lived with. The farmer who owned the farm that I lived next door to for six years would never have had the animals that he had worked so hard to keep killed in an inhumane way.
Would you say that owning a dog or a cat is abuse? Because that's not ~*~natural~*~? And yeh, it's the same, because we're not allowing it to go out and do it's natural dog thing of running around and killing stuff and, oh wait, dying in pain if it gets hurt.
This is the last time I will say:
Not all animals bred for the meat industry are treated badly or inhumanely and god damn it, yes it is still a natural part of life for us to eat meat.
C-A.
No I don't! I am vegan.
C-A
You haven't either.
C-A, I gave a very balanced arguement with lots of facts several pages back which you shat on and ignored, now I am being ageist? maybe I am but your a fucking fool.
