I'm starting to lose a scary amount of weight again. :(

What is a scary amount? Is this through lack of food?

1 stone. I put half a stone back on at some point and lost it again. It's nothing to do with lack of food - it's to do with my stomach problems.

Have you seen your doctor about it? If your BMI gets too low or if your periods stop then you definately should see someone. Take care of you x

Thanks. I did a doctor numerous times last year and a specialist and they've said they can't do anything.

Woot, I've lost 5lbs since I bought my cross trainer and joined weightwatchers.

It makes such a difference when you write down everything that you eat and drink; it really shows you how much you ate before then and makes you think twice about whether or not you really needed two slices of toast with your beans!! Hehe.

Well done for your achievement :)

Do you feel better about yourself for it? Like are you finding things generally easier with a better level of fitness?

I've been binging a bit recently, I think I'm going to start writing things down too (as I'm going through a phase of restricting and then binging, I want my eating to be closer to normal or at least less binging).

I definitely feel better. I'm noticing all the little things changing which is such a confidence boost; like muscular arms and a tight bum! All change is good change.
It also means I can walk around the shops for longer without having to stop and sit hehe. I'm also doing 40 minutes on the crosstrainer now, when I began only doing 20 minutes! It's all good!

Good luck Twinklestar, you can do it!!

I've not weighed in at WW for 2 weeks now so will do so on monday. Not sure how it'll go but i'd like to get out of the 14s range now and into the 13s!

On Tuesday I completed a 10km run on the treadmill at the gym at work as part of our Heptathlon challenge, and I completed it in 53 minutes 14 seconds.

This is a really good time considering how unfit I was just 9 months ago.

It's similar to the time I managed in the 1988 Sport Aid event 20 years ago when I was a lot younger and supposedly fitter.

    Some help please:
I am really unfit, which probably isn't help by the fact that I have really poor balance and no co-ordination whatsoever. Anyway, what is the best thing I can do to myself slightly more fit? I am thinking about swimming (I should be ok with that) but would that really help me much?

EDIT: I don't need to lose weight.

    Yes.

Swimming is one of the best all round workouts you can get, low impact (good for joints), low speed (which will make a difference with your vision issues), you don't really need balance as you're supported by the water.

I think many people underestimate how good for you it actually is. Do it :)

just a update as I haven't been on here in ages, I have lost 1 and a quater inches off my waist in 2 months. I have become more regular with the gym but am rubbish with my eating. Doesn't help that I've had a week off as I hurt my shoulder so I cant be arsed!

I'm another yes for swimming. Just started going again in the last few weeks and feel better from it already. You might want to go somewhere that has lanes so you can swim at a pace to suit you and not have to dodge the kids arsing about.

Twinkle-star, how'd you get on? I'm off to WW in a bit :)

g_angel - you have inspired me to get back into swimming again! I used to be in the swimming club when I was younger but I was far too slow to get anywhere. Being back home though and I'm not sure I can use my uni ID here to get a student swim!

    I'll give it a go though ;) I'll go tomorrow :D

I lost 2llb last week, not sure about how I will get on this week though I feel a bit heavier, but in the last 7 weeks I have lost 12 llb.

How are you getting on with it ?

I'm on 15lbs loss for 6/7 weeks :) Lost 0.5lb which isn't bad considering the binge I had on Monday!

ETA: I had to use a Boots machine to weigh myself today as class wasn't on?? It even measured my body fat. Was a deffo eye opener. Couldn't believe it told me I should ideally be 7.5 stones! Mental. Who would've thought.

You might have lost more if you didn't weigh in on your normal scales.

A loss is still good though because its going in the right direction and lots of things affect your weight such as fluid, time of the month etc.

Melian, did you give the swimming a go ? I hope so as its good fun and also quite calming.

I've lost 7.5lbs!! It's the most amount of weight I've managed to lose in about 4 years so I'm dead chuffed. And now I'm in a 34B bra instead of 36B. Woot.

I've been maintaining my weight for a while now. I've also hit a rough patch because my body is feeling the autumn. I just want to eat, sleep and be lazy. It's such a U-turn for me mentally and I'm really needing to work to keep myself focused. I can't touch chocolate without sending my body into a rage for more. It's horrible. :(

It's a repeat of what happened last year, only I am not going to give in now. I like to think I'm better prepared.

I'm still biking and swimming, I start a new type of dance class next week and later this month some Hip Hop. When things slow down more at work I plan to use the dead time to return to the gym. Although the weight may not be dropping as fast now, I am feeling fitter than I have for years. My back has been docile for a few months now. :thumb:

All my pants are also too big and look baggy which is so not sexy. Groar. :p

Ok...nobody shoot me for bringing up an oldish thread, but I just wanted to post this somewhere.

I've lost nearly 2 stone over the last year :) ok, so it's not a lot but it's got me back to a healthy weight which I've haven't been at since my back injury effectively killed most forms of excercise for me. Possibly due to the OH who I've been with for the last year, but then again, he's put on weight so *shrug* not that I'm complaining, love his wobbly tummy

Sorry, it just made me happy when I realised!
