it's all about opinions isn't it...there is no definitive answer to most things...i'll respect others opinions as long as they can back it up with valid points and i hope vice versa to anyone else.
but you can just as easily say a baby has the right to live even if it is just a few cells or whatever....
No, because until it can live indepentantly of the womb, it is not a human being in its own right. It is part of the mother's body.
can you prove it's not a living organism though? alot of disabled people can't live independently outside the womb...forever in life...no one says we should kill them
An embryo/fotus is not a person or a human being capable of independent life- not until it reaches certain age though.
Any comparisons against disabled people/living beings/etc are thus wrong.
Ultimately it's woman's choice to make. That's why it is wrong for others to say she shouldn't or mustn't have an abortion.
i didn't say that...you were talking about living independently outside of the womb...yes a feotus can't do that but so can't alot of people who are born disabled.
i have absolutely no idea of medicine or names of conditions but you know how some people are born with brain conditions that make them totally dependent on others for survival...it's still life...i don't know if i'm going far with this arguement because i am pro-choice, i was just trying to start a debate about something but i know it's futile so it's better to just leave it.
At what point does a fetus become "human"?
When its a few cells its not a baby.
see thats the only thing that slightly worries me about abortion...how can you really tell if it's not a baby...i think if women want an abortion they should have one as soon as possible and not wait whatever amount of weeks.
Pass I aint a doctor.
I agree with you, sometimes its not as simple as that though.
Sorry but I aint read the full thread so I dont know what was said earlier on.
yeh i suposse, decinding whether to have one or whatnot...are there many groups or counsellors who specilise in helping pregnant women deciding whats the best thing to do...and if there isn't why isn't there more.
Yes it is. But I happen to believe its right. Women should have control over their own bodies. Do you think otherwise?
Yes. And?
At the point where it can survive independantly of the mother.
which is...
But a fetus is a seperate body, and it can survive from very early on if it is given help through modern medecine.
I dunno, I'm not an expert on current medical science.
No, its not a separate body until it can survive indpendently.
