 it's all about opinions isn't it...there is no definitive answer to most things...i'll respect others opinions as long as they can back it up with valid points and i hope vice versa to anyone else.

Because women should have the option available to them if needed.

but you can just as easily say a baby has the right to live even if it is just a few cells or whatever....

No, because until it can live indepentantly of the womb, it is not a human being in its own right. It is part of the mother's body.

can you prove it's not a living organism though? alot of disabled people can't live independently outside the womb...forever in life...no one says we should kill them

Sorry, I can't make head nor tail of that. Disabled people living inside the womb? Are you on drugs?

Not again down that road please...

An embryo/fotus is not a person or a human being capable of independent life- not until it reaches certain age though.

Any comparisons against disabled people/living beings/etc are thus wrong.

Ultimately it's woman's choice to make. That's why it is wrong for others to say she shouldn't or mustn't have an abortion.

i have absolutely no idea of medicine or names of conditions but you know how some people are born with brain conditions that make them totally dependent on others for survival...it's still life...i don't know if i'm going far with this arguement because i am pro-choice, i was just trying to start a debate about something but i know it's futile so it's better to just leave it.

The gestation at which a fetus is considered viable was only relatively reduced from 28 weeks to 24 weeks, and there are calls for it to be 20 weeks (i.e. the latest gestation at which abortion is allowed for "social" reasons).

At what point does a fetus become "human"?

Slight change of subject but I've been told the film 'Vera Drake' is worth watching to get a good understanding of the abortion debate.

see thats the only thing that slightly worries me about abortion...how can you really tell if it's not a baby...i think if women want an abortion they should have one as soon as possible and not wait whatever amount of weeks.

Yes it is. But I happen to believe its right. Women should have control over their own bodies. Do you think otherwise?

At the point where it can survive independantly of the mother.

Women should have control over their own bodies.

But a fetus is a seperate body, and it can survive from very early on if it is given help through modern medecine.

No, but I think people having opposite opinions from my own or not wrong for having those opinions, whether I disagree with them or not.

...changing all the time, and therefore not an absolute number and therefore the "embryo is only a bunch of cells" argument is weak.

No, its not a separate body until it can survive indpendently.
