Pubs and off licences don't serve under 18s because of the law, not because of some ethereal moral obligation. The same applies to drink-driving.
Don't bring my mother into anything, however you mean it.
Spliffie: As I understood it driving under the influence of drugs isn't illegal, though I may have misunderstood articles read, simply being under the influence was what allowed the drivers to be arrested.
Which is entirely my point.
Ooooh, touchy.
You have misunderstood.
You posted as if they did it out of some form of moral responsibility not because of the law.
Don't do it. It's just not on.
Fuck me, this is like pulling teeth.
If drugs were legalised, then it would force people to be more responsible.
Geddit?
Get a grip ferchrissakes.
No it wouldn't, not unless there were corresponding laws forcing them to be more responsible. Legalising the drug does not provide a given for a law of responsibility does it?
There were no laws about drink driving before there were cars, these laws were brought in later as applications arrose.
exactly my point, thank you for agreeing.
Nicely backtracked.
I don't know whether to laugh or cry
You legalise the drug for adult use and ensure you've got the laws sorted out to ensure people ain't driving on it etc much like alcohol. No doubt the Dutch have that all sorted.
It's plain fucking obvious you don't let people drive after taking a bong hit, it goes without saying.
Clearly not, it didn't go without saying at the turn of the last century, when cars were only just introduced, that you didn't let people drink and drive, did it?
Backtracked how exactly? The laws need to be carefully planned, doesn't mean I agree with legalisation.
Well you just agreed with me that legalisation is a good idea.
Eh? This seems to be a contradictory statement. Could you expand?
Trust me this was not my intention, I'm sorry if I misled you.
I don't agree with legalisation. But if it were on the cards I would insist on appropriate laws for control.
Seems like you're supporting legalisation there. Which is it?
So you think the current situation is a good idea? A totally unregulated market?
OK, so say the appropriate laws were put in place (no driving etc, everything that's been covered already) why would you still not agree with the legalisation?
So you support an unregulated black market run by gangsters then?
I do not agree, for the same reasons I disapprove of smoking.
*lights up roll up*
So would you ban tobacco as well?
That would be extremly difficult, I would like to ban smoking in all public spaces.
Well do you?
The market is supported by criminals isn't it?
I'm asking you, if you think the current situation, which is a totally unregulated market run by gangsters, is a good idea.
Yes or no?
So because you disapprove of something, others shouldn't be allowed do it? If some mad bastard placed a ban on masturbation, would you be happy?
Actually, I don't masturbate, so it wouldn't affect me. I am not the only person who doesn't like having to breathe someone elses smoke when I'm out and about either.
There wouldn't be a market if people weren't breaking the law would there?
Eh?
If people didn't insist on buying drugs that are illegal there wouldn't really be a market that needed regulating would there?
You might as well wish for the moon on a stick. There will always be a market for drugs. So doesn't it make more sense to regualate and control it properly?
Oh right I thought you were male until i checked yer profile. When did i mention smoking lol. If someone's smoking dope in a licensed cannabis cafe or in their own home then you're not going to have to breathe someone else's smoke are you? In fact, it's not going to have any effect on you whatsoever.
You're either lying or very weird.
