And was gunna ring my gp to ask about going back to work and how I do it as wanna go back next week but yeah they’re closed.

And are you sure they’re not close @Jellyelephant lol it’s bank holiday

Hope you feel better soon @Jellyelephant. :) The healthcare system can be super frustrating, especially when what you're calling about can't really wait!

I remember trying to book an appointment at my local GP a couple of years ago and was told the next available slot was over a month away. Like what if I'm feeling fine by then? It's not an emergency, but there are few things you can realistically wait that long for. I do wonder if those remote NHS services like Babylon and GP At Hand will be the future to be honest.

thanks mike youre right its so frustrating especcially when youre in pain. I have an appt for the 19th for a MH review but thats not soon enough to get my painkillers. Oh well i guess ill suffer through til tomorrow haha dont have a choice. I think those services are good for some things (the same way telephone appt with GP is good for some things) but I refuse to pay lol

Ah that’s probably the reason @Jellyelephant have you taken paracetamol?

Yeah and ibuprofen but I usually take naproxen (a stronger anti inflammatory) and codeine

Oh defo, and there will always be a need for in-person appointments too. I didn't realise those services cost money actually - wah. (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

Don't suppose weaker painkillers do anything or do you need the weapons grade stuff?

    Hi @Jellyelephant

I hope you are feeling better soon and manage to get through to the GP.

I am similar to @Mike. In the summer, I had an anemia flare-up which largely left me bed-bound as I was falling back to sleep every 20-30 minutes. I was just out of it.

It took the doctors days to give me a phone call back with a GP. Then another month for a blood test.

It turned out I was indeed having an anemic flare-up with iron and folic acid.

I am now medicated and back up on my feet but it is really frustrating when you know you're not well (and what you need) but are kept waiting.

Have you got any temporary pain relief in your house? It may not be as strong but may reduce it to some extent until you can get through to the GP.

We'll be thinking of you! Please feel free to let us know how you get on if you get an appointment :3

The thread moves at super speed sometimes! I struggle to keep up at times too @Mike although it’s far easier now I have better internet (can you believe I’ve just said that, I have good internet because I can’t quite believe it either)

@Shaunie @Mike @Jellyelephant and all who are here, hello! I’ve been reasonably alright just busy with Christmas and new year and trying to keep my mind off all the adulty life shit! Right now dad’s watching formula 1 and my partner is doing work (he says, I reckon he’s playing a game) so I’m hiding upstairs for some peace. I feel like I need it my brain’s a bit overwhelmed right now.

    How are you all?

I am sorry to hear you are in a similar situation @Shaunie. I hope you get the answers you need and deserve soon! Tomorrow is a normal day so they should be less busy :3

Could you get temporary dressing from the supermarket? :3

Good luck with seeing the specialist tomorrow! How are you feeling about that? :3

Sounds like a nice plan @Zay! Good food is always a bonus. Can’t say I’ve tried Thai food either but sure it’s nice.

I agree with you @independent_ and @Mike, we do indeed have ninjas! I'm also struggling to keep up =)

Woohoo, really glad to hear you have good internet @independent_ :3

Sorry to hear you are feeling overwhelmed, is there anything in particular that you want to talk to us about?

I agree that sometimes adulting in itself can be overwhelming and hiding away somewhere is a good plan of action in those moments!

I hope you enjoy shopping and food @Zay :3

Think my brain’s just busy @Laura_tigger82 and I’ve spent the past few days around family with lots of noise and TV watching and stuff, which even though it seems fun (and mostly it was) I just need my space sometimes.

I really must change out of my pyjamas and stop being so lazy though

Yes, we all need some space sometimes. I hope you can get the rest you need :3

Also, why am I bothering to wear a bra? I don't even have to go out today.

I feel this, I just went to tescos but I'm home now and I'm thinking why am I even still wearing this uncomfy bra? Lol

Usually as soon as I get home from going somewhere and I know that I don't need to go out anymore that day, the bra comes straight off.
