Happy Mental Health Awareness Week! 💛 #MHAW
Happy Mental Health Awareness Week everyone! #MHAW

How are you all doing today?
This week is Mental Health Awareness Week and the Mental Health Foundation's theme for this year is Movement: Moving more for our mental health.
The Mental Health Foundation started Mental Health Awareness Week in 2001 and it now happens every year, being the biggest opportunity for the whole of the UK to come together to focus on getting good mental health. The week aims to tackle stigma and help people understand and prioritise their and others' mental health.
One of the most important things we can do to help protect our mental health is regular movement. Our bodies and our minds are connected. Looking after ourselves physically also helps us prevent problems with our mental health. Movement helps us feel better about our bodies and improves self-esteem. It can also help reduce stress and anxiety and help us to sleep better.
At a very basic level, physical activity means any movement of your body that uses your muscles and expends energy. And so one of the great things about moving more is that there are possibilities to suit almost everyone.
How do you try to build movement into your daily life? Or where do you think you could do this more?
I find that going for short walk down by the canal near where I live at the end of a work day can really help by bringing small moments of calm.
If you’d like to get moving more, why not have a look at the Mental Health Foundation's guide on ideas to get started as well as tips on how to get the best mental health benefits from the movement you’re doing. We're always here too to have a chat

Re: How do I stop being asexual???
to answer your question as an asexual : you dont need to stop !
it sounds like you may also be aromantic, and that is also perfectly fine . it is also fine if you dont want to use this label at all !
asexuality / aromanticism being valid is hotly debated even in LGBTQ+ spaces, and so i understand why you feel the way you do . its one of those things when people see it as pushing labels "too far" . unfortunately, it is usually just a matter of people lacking critical thinking skills . in reality, gender and sexuality, even binary gender roles and the "sanctity of marraige" are all man-made concepts, none are real measurable things . why limit ourselves ? as long as you are not hurting anyone, you should feel free to label yourself as anything . or have no labels ! it never ever means you havent the right to exist .
there are so many factors that play into why people might not think your orientation is valid or real (all of them nonsense), a lot of it probably boils down to your age . many of the older adults i know didnt want to date / have sex when they were young, and then do . people tend to project their own life experiences onto others because its the only thing they know, but of course that doesnt mean it applies to you . not to mention the whole "your brain isnt fully formed yet !" spiel....
the bottom line is : you do exist, and you are absolutely not the only one . regardless of how people feel about it, you deserve respect and acceptance, and the option to live your life the way you feel most content with .
take care !

Beyond Devastated
Found out today the bill allowing teachers to misgender/deadname students if they wish and the mandatory outing of closeted trans kids, not allowing trans kids to go into the right toilets etc, has been passed and it's so upsetting. Fortunately, I am in university now and am 21, but my heart breaks for all of the trans kids that are going to be affected by this. I'm just so full of rage and upset, I want to do something about it but I feel so useless.
I hope you all, especially trans peeps right now, are taking care of yourselves during this time.

Re: Struggling to sleep
It's not the "just thinking abt thing" it's on ur mind- it wants u to process it.

Calming down eg. Bath, music, meditation.... b4 planning on going to slp.
Good luck x

Re: Weird sibling situation (confused vent)
@AnonymousToe u definitely shouldn't feel bad about feeling jealous about ur teacher being closer to ur sister, it's a totally normal response that anyone would feel if they had such a close relationship with their teacher. Every individual is different and I'm sure ur teacher will always remember u and clearly they care a lot for their students so it'd be great if ur sister could also receive such help. Sending lots of love

Re: It's all a bit too much.
Hey dear.
It's ok to cry. Tell that to yourself.
Yes it's normal. Taking exams is really stressful and overwhelming.
Sending love.
Take it at ur own paste.
