May Quizzes!
Heyhey all!!
If you saw our post asking about the watch parties replacing the final topic thread of the month from May, then you may have seen us hint at more quizzes on the horizon! (You may also have seen the announcement about the Easter quiz!)
We are hoping this will be the first of many quizzes, and we are hoping to run one going forwards every other Friday 4-5pm, so they would be on:
Friday 2nd May 4-5pm
Friday 16th May 4-5pm
Friday 30th May 4-5pm
If you are interested in hosting/running a quiz across any of these dates, then please DM us directly with:
1) a proposed theme, 2) if you would feel comfy to plan and run the quiz on the day, or whether you would prefer someone else to host the space for you, and 3) if you need any help planning from us
We can support you in announcing your quiz when the time comes, and of course, we will be there on the day to co-facilitate the space!
We have a quiz running on Friday hosted by Rose which you can find here if you want to see how they run and what the vibes are. The more the merrier!
We’re very excited about this and other upcoming things, and we hope that you guys are too!! Thank you again for your patience

Re: Thinking of joining Andys Man Club
thats interesting. well i hope you find the andy's man club helpful.
Thinking of joining Andys Man Club
Andy’s man club is basically for men they meet up and have like a brew and you each take turns to talk about your struggles without being judged, it's like support circle here but in person more people and different ages from 18 and it's I think for men but similar it's 1 day a week you take your turn to speak and everyone supports you. It's for men because I think a lot of men feel weak, less masculine and all that for struggling, crying, not being OK and all that but it's not weak at all, it's OK not to feel OK. Like in person supportive I've felt is more effective. I love this community so much, the support is amazing and everyone is amazing, it's definitely been helpful, ive valued the community a lot more since the start of last year. It's just a bit amount of getting support and I've used online stuff. In person support might feel effective and I guess the more support the better.
It's just exhausting to struggle and any support I can get can help, the andys man club sounds ideal, maybe find people who relate, its all sges so people older or younger from 18 plus, I could pottentially meet friends there , it's drop in sessions you could just turn up also it's Monday evening from what I'm told which doesn't clash with any sessions here but if it does for whatever reason clash with here I could see what I think the best or if it clashes with work or whatever I'll have to see but yh im looking at working during the day really for just general but I know it might not be available, I'll know I'll get sorted but in the meantime or when I get a job I get I'm not going to get fully cured, it might get a overwhelmed stressed still, it will definitely help but on bad days things like therapy I'm getting will have or will make a difference hopefully, therapy I'm paying for but another thing about andys man club I think its free too. Andy’s Man Club is basically a support group for men where they meet up once a week and talk about their mental health and struggles without being judged. They have them in different parts of the country, and there’s one local to me.
It was started by, I think, someone who lost their brother-in-law to suicide. Then that person wanted to make a difference, so they started Andy’s Man Club. It’s important because bottling things up can be so dangerous, and a lot of men do it — maybe because they’re too scared to, and all that. It can eventually lead to it getting too much, and I guess suicide. It’s a common killer in young men.
I’ve bottled stuff up before, but I’ve been able to share things here and now to my therapist, and it helps. Talking might not fully cure things, but it can be a weight lifted off your shoulders when you talk to the right people.

Re: physical activity

@toffuna101 that all sounds interesting, worth miss volunteering for that, it all sounds fun, I understand it's hassle for your dad and expensive fully adding up, relatable to me myself, it's thoughtful you're thinking about him. The wheelchair bowling sounds great too. Both sounds like exciting activities, hopefully they say yes because they are both fun and exercise at the same time. I hope you have a good time.
thank you @Redemption i hope they say yes too.
Done 👍🏻
Don’t want the stupid “are you safe questions” so to save the pain of people asking yup I am safe!
But I’m fucking done with everything, I cba anymore with the battle sometimes I wish social media didn’t fucking exist and that phones didn’t exist. If my mum didn’t pay for my phone I’d smash it and go back to the old fashion way of communication so for now I guess I’ll just have to mute everything 👍🏻

Re: Trigger warning!⚠️ tried to kms but failed now I’m stuck here and struggling
Hi Penny!
Here to echo what Shannon has said, she's given some amazing resources and advice there! You deserve to be heard, and the community here at The Mix are here for you too, your feelings are so important and we don't expect you to be okay, there's no time limit on how long it can take to start healing. But you do deserve to be on this Earth and get help, that's for certain

Re: Life's so stressful
I'm sorry that you feel alone and life is hard for you currently. You're not alone in your situation, and there is always light at the end of the tunnel.
