Re: Christmas Eve Watch Party!
What Grinch film are we watching? There is the one with Jim Carrey and the awful Illumination one both on ITVX.

Hey there @Nathan, good to see you

Anyways how are you?
Reflecting on Your Year
Heyo!
We're at the end of the year now, and inspired by a young person who is part of the Comms Committee for the Winter Campaign, we want to know the answer to some prompts. If it helps, imagine you are writing a journal out and using these questions to reflect on your year!
We'd also LOVE to know what your go-to journal prompts are, so please let us know down below!

- What’s something you’ve learned about yourself this year?
- Describe a small, ordinary moment from today that felt meaningful. Why did it stand out?
- Who in your life has had a positive influence on you this year, and how can you show appreciation for them?
- Imagine your life one year from now. What do you hope will be different and what will stay the same?
- Write about a challenge you’ve overcome. What inner strengths did you discover through that experience?
We'd also LOVE to know what your go-to journal prompts are, so please let us know down below!

Re: Community Secret Santa 2025
Hey team! Okay great sounds like @Amy22 , @eylah , and @Nemuritai you're down to be involved?
Would anyone else like to be included? We'll DM you your assigned person next week!
I don't think I'll be participating - I'd love to normally but I don't have the capacity to support others much right now.

Re: What is your favourite christmas song?
Love this! Christmas music brings me such a nostalgic, cosy feeling whenever I hear it, I recently heard 'The Christmas Song' playing in the mall near me, it's such a classic.

I also love mistletoe by good ol biebs! Reminds me of being a teen again.
I'm not a huge fan of Shakin' Stevens - Merry Christmas, it's a bit too repetitive, I feel dizzy by the end of it.
I agree @independent_ anything Buble is a classic!

Re: Anybody want to vent or chat about anything? w/c 15.12.25
Hiya, I just completed my online interview for the bbc journalism apprenticeship I applied for which is part of their bbc extend which is aimed for neurodivergent people to get into tv and film
@Amy22 well done. That's absolutely incredible and you should be very proud of yourself. How do you think you did with it?
Honestly to be fair I winged it but I had a go and that is what counts. If I was able to get the apprenticeship it would mean a lot because it would give me an entry into TV and film again. Also, I'm still doing my internship over at a company near me in their marketing department. So if I didn't get the apprenticeship I still got a chance of being taken on over in the marketing department instead.
@Amy22 you miss all the shots you don't take. I reckon you've done amazing at it. And it sounds like you've got a whole load of plans just in case. Wishing you the best of luck with it Amy.
Aw thank you so much. To be fair I tend to just apply and hope for the best really because at the moment with todays job market, employment ain't that great for young people myself included. I've got plans for what I could also do instead but still unsure really what I ideally want to do after my internship ends. Plus that and my tutor has just left as well because he's relocating to the other scheme that is run in the hospital. So he will be looking after the other interns. We got a new tutor and she is lovely. I met her the other day and she's very nice. Hopefully she doesn't do too many things last minute like my other tutor did because he had a tendency to rush through things with us.
Basically the scheme I am on is aimed at young neurodivergent individuals who want to get into employment but don't know where to start. It's mainly aimed towards autistic adults to help gain the skills needed for full time employment.
@Amy22 yeah, it is a brutal job market right now isn't it. But it's amazing that your jumping at whatever opportunity you get. Hopefully it all works out well for you, and you land it, cause you honestly do deserve chances like these to succeed.
Aww thank you. I just want to do something I enjoy to be fair.

tw: mention of abuseChildren would be beaten by twigs and branches by Krampus.
In some cases, the children would be abducted by Krampus and would be taken back to hell and would either be held captive or eaten by Krampus himself. Krampus would also be accompanied by Saint Nicholas because being a Saint meant Nicholas wasn't allowed to punish children. Krampus, to my information anyway, is no longer a popular figure with children as people realised that telling their children if they're being naughty during Christmas, a half goat demon would either beat them or abduct them and possibly eat them was not the best for their mental health. But Krampus is still a popular figure in Germany and has gained popularity world wide.
There is more to Krampus this tradition but this is a very basic summary.
I've heard of the tradition of Krampas and it also inspired a recent Christmas horror film too as well which is about Krampus. I can imagine though how terrifying it must have been though to be told a half goat demon would eat you if you were naughty.
Probably for the best parents stop the Krampus tradition both for the mental health and also children should be taught to be kind not out of fear but because it is just the right thing to do.
It's definitely a different take on Santa Claus to be fair. The Mari Lwyd tradition in Wales is quite fascinating actually because its basically having a rap battle with a skeleton horse 🐴
I just searched up the Mari Lwyd tradition.

What in Gods name is this?
