Re: Breakup
Hey @LolaPumpkin13 , I just wanted to post here to say that it sounds extremely tough coping with these thoughts, and you're doing so well to keep reaching out for help. I get the sense that these last few weeks have felt very isolating for you - you're trying to get help, but don't feel listened to or heard. Did you have your first counselling session? That sounds like a potential positive step, and I really hope you can find that 1:1 support you're looking for very soon.
When the thoughts get loud in your mind, what kind of things do they say?
We're listening, and thank you again for your trust in opening up about this.

Re: Community Secret Santa 2025
@AnonymousToe thank you for sharing this, and for your feedback. This is 100% valid, and I'm sorry to hear that this feels like a loss compared to how Secret Santa used to be run. May I ask how it used to work here on Community? We're open to learning!

Re: Community Secret Santa 2025
This sounds like a wonderful idea. I just had one question - in terms of how the chosen community member is picked, would that be any member of the community or just one of the members also taking part? I must admit I've never done secret santa in real life so I'm not totally sure how it works hahah
Re: Christmassy Quiz! - Monday 22nd from 3pm to 4pm
Hey @Ech0 !! We're planning on doing a New Years quiz too, so if you were free on New Years Eve then you could do a quiz then! It doesnt have to necessarily be themed around New year if you dont want it to be - we just want to do something fun on NYE!

Weekly Challenge - Do Something Warm for Someone!
Heyo all!
Another Youth Voice group called the Comms Committee are doing some wonderful content and work, which is entirely young person led, this winter period. One is setting themselves the challenge to do something warm for someone this period.
Some suggestions might be checking in on someone, buying them a hot chocolate, making them a Christmas Card - even just planning something nice to do together!
This can be for anyone and can be as big or small as you like - so for the next week, try to do something warm for someone and report back here using a comment on this post!

Re: Community Secret Santa 2025
It’s a shame we can’t do it like we used to. And I feel like this may not work - sometimes I don’t reply to posts not because I don’t care but because I don’t have any experience or knowledge in the particular thing someone’s struggling with.

@Leyla That sounds wonderful . I look forward to it.
I was actually just about to ask if I might be able to host a Christmas quiz, but I know River is very experienced and will do such an amazing job so I do not mind. I’m just glad to be part of it and share in the experience with everyone.

Re: (tw) eating disorder
Hi @eabhax06 , how are you doing? Thank you so much for making this post and for opening up here as you have.
Reading through your message, what really strikes me is just how isolating it sounds to be going through this right now, and how deeply frustrating to not feel listened to or taken seriously. You mentioned that thoughts and worries about food have felt all-consuming lately, constantly circling your mind and leaving you feeling exhausted. That sounds really, really draining to be coping with, and you're doing so well to share this. How has it felt to type out your post?
Thank you for opening up too about that memory with your mum and your sister's shirt. I can really hear how that moment has stayed with you and continues to upset you. I get the sense her reaction felt hurtful for you, and looking back you really wish she'd been able to see what had actually happened? You also mentioned reflecting back on thoughts around food after swimming, and then counting calories throughout school too. Hearing this, it sounds like it's been quite a number of years now coping with these feelings and holding a lot of anxiety on your own. I wonder if there are any moments you tend to notice where food can feel slightly easier / less anxiety-inducing, and then moments where the anxiety is the loudest?
Also, if that feeling of anxiety could speak, what do you feel it would say?
We're right here with you to listen, and really appreciate your trust in opening up about this. In an ideal world, what kind of support would you say would feel most meaningful for you - whether that's 1:1 emotional support maybe, advice or practical help, group-support?
