A liberal can hold strong views. Any disposition or outlook can fall prey to knee-jerkism, it's a human fault.
The second the do so, they cease to be liberal. Just as someone with "right wing" views who drops them in the face of evidence ceases to be "right wing" as soon as they drop the ideas.

For the record I love the mail, I never read my breakfast without it as its the only paper that is unashamedly right wing and doesnt back out of telling the truth without the fear of being branded racist by the loony left.

Many liberals have strong views about welfare, poverty alleviation, government intervention and so on, and can be knee-jerk in their response to counter arguments.

Without going in depth about the history of that paper (but please feel free to ask if you want :rolleyes: ) the Daily Mail has been conducting a racist/xenophobic campaign against certain groups, races and nationalities. Namely gypsies, Roma and Eastern European asylum seekers.
What can I say tommo? You even have people from the BNP claiming they're not racist. It's for everyone to judge whether someone is racist/xenophobic or not, based on their words and actions.
