Oh but I do! I'm simply responding to those who argue the Mail is not racist or xenophobic, just as I would respond to anyone who said the Nazi party wasn't racist.

    :lol::lol::lol: oh my..... :D

so support over 60 years ago now means they are the same now???

How pathetic, its a shame your not so forgiving towards newspapers as you are towards convicted criminals.

Er... no it doesn't. Unless they're saying exactly the same things but replacing the word 'Jew' with 'gypsy', 'Roma' or 'Albanian bogus asylum seekers'.

How often you read the Mail?
  • Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
About once a week. I always make a point of reading a copy if it is around (most often in the pub). Not to mention directly or indirectly on the internet.

No possible denial of their disgusting prejudice, malicious misleading and smearing of certain groups and races.

Rich Kid I would like you to respond to the sources I have provided that contradict your earlier statements instead of trying to argue about the Daily Mail. Make a new thread if it bothers you.

Anybody who denies RK has a fair point is a pathological knee-jerk liberal. Find a balance boys!

    (a) I'm certainly not a liberal
    (b) How can RK have a fair point when he's blatantly made these examples up?

Sorry, that proves your point...how exactly?

It's not fair - because it's racist! Help Asylum seekers - fine, but if as you claim the aim is to help the most disadvantaged, there should be no reference to BMEs, because the disadvantaged include many more White Majority Ethnics equally deserving. Racist! And into the breach step the BNP!

I do see your point because these things can be seen as racialising what is basically a class issue. However, it is a fact that certain ethnic groups have certain needs because we still live in a racist society that disadvantages people merely on the basis of their skin colour.

Well said Tommo100. Lets stand up for the millions of normal decent folk in this country who start their day off reading Britains favourite paper, the Daily Mail.
There are too many left-wing Guardian-reading sado's on this forum who are out to denigrate this fine paper.
My breakfast wouldn't be the same without it.
Many on here can throw personal abuse without any retribution, its about time a sense of balance came into play.

Every time you call single mothers or people with drug problems "scum", you insult my friends. So excuse me if I tell you to fuck off every now and then.

And if they vote not to help any charities working with immigrants and asylum seekers then all the better.

How this will work for the small local grants I have no idea.

There you go again being so negative before the ink is even dry on the news. Believe in democracy and let the people decide.

Labour are so good at getting votes, maybe they will 'fool' the people into giving Lottery money to them.

Here's the answer I gave NQA about same link.

People are not disadvantaged because of their ethnic background, as even Blagsta said, stuff like this racialises problems of inequality, education, opportunity, health and so on (he actually said 'class' ;)). Funding priorities like this necessarily penalise disadvantaged whites on account of their race - if you're poor and Bangladeshi you've got more chance of getting the cash than poor whites - they're quite explicit about that.

"We have identified particular priority beneficiary groups for funding...Black and minority ethnic communities".

It's racist. And it's so easy for the BNP to exploit obvious double standards like this and I think they're perfectly justified.

right then if you are just all going to end up bickering I will give up in this thread seeing as I have found sources contrary to your claims and you have given no response.

Please could you show me where it says it explicitly discriminates against whites. Because it doesn't.

It looks at social disadvanatage and whether you and Blagsta acknowledge it large elements of ethnic communities are in are economically and/or socially disadavtaged. I see no problem with spending money to deal with that fact, the same as I see no problem with more money going to Northern Ireland or Northern England, than the South, because these places are disadvantaged compared with the South.

(though why do you think using Blagsta as point of reference is going to further your argument with me as I fundamentally disagree with his take on society).

And unfortunately you're very unlikely to ever get one, given the record to date of the poster concerned.
