Whatcha Making?

littlemissylittlemissy Posts: 9,972 Supreme Poster
So, what are you are doing at the moment? Anyone knitting / crocheting / writing / creating anything exciting?

I'm on a sock craze at the moment and just cast on some spring forwards. I have many socks I want to make but not enough hours to do them.

Oh, and I'm also making a little hedgehog for my daughter. I need a 48 hour day!

    Hedgehog!

I'm almost finished with a teeny cardy for bump (mid-blocking, then just need to sew the buttons on), and am in the process of cracking on with her car seat blanket!

I'm working on my cashmerino ripple blanket but struggling to find the time at the moment.
I've just finished another baby blanket (sadly not for me) and I'm thinking about making some more to sell on Folksy.

making a blanket the pattern I kind of made up, an add one knitt two jobby, striped with different reds. Makes a loverly ribbed effect.

Has anyone made those knit a bear kits they do in john lewis? It comes with everything you need and they're great! I made a shaun the sheep its awesome.

EDIT- I just read that back and it makes me sound like a spammer. I'm not, I'm just dead proud of my shaun the sheep!

Winging it! Just dead simple 4 colour crochet stripes. The yarn's really nice, so doesn't need a complicated pattern. I'm considering edging it in a fabric band to make it a bit more classy, but not decided yet!

    :)

That sheep looks so cute Evanstar! Pictures of yours!

A blanket from hell... thus far I have 55x400 in stockinette (minus a 5 stitch garter boarder) and another strip that is 120x~80 in stockinette

It will have a picture in the middle but before and after that part is just torture.

And I've never done a picture before so it might turn out like crap and be worthless :p

I've been working on curtains for the bloke's kid. She wanted pink Disney Princess curtains and I said NO cause I'm getting allergic to the pinkness in her room. So I decided to make curtains for her instead, with ponies and even a little princess. It's taking a long time though, the fancy quilting sewing machine keeps giving me trouble. I'm nowhere near the efficiency of factory workers. ;)

I really want to knit something but I don't know what. I also want to learn to crochet. I really should do that. I could even get help from the brilliant women at work.

I really dig that ripple blanket you posted, KHSS.

    Thanks Jaloux :)

If you want to take up crocheting, definitely do it! It's amazing. I've been doing it for just over a year now and I just can't put it down. Are you on Flickr and Ravelry? There are loads of groups for crochet on there. Also lots of blogs have soooo much inspiration and will help you out if you need it :)

thought this belonged here, rather than food. My little brother is 8 tomorrow and asked me to do the cake. I was aiming for this:

For my friend. The tension is a bit screwy over the colourwork (first garment with pattern for me) but I hope that will even out as he wears and washes it. It's only taken 3 weeks and I've done the back and half of the front.

I've got a day to do the shoulder shaping, neck line and seaming. Hah. Probably not going to happen :-( I started it with a month to go and was doing really well until I hit a low the other day and my attention span went to shit :banghead:

I finished one sideways sock. It has grafting under the toe which has made it a bit bumpy and I dont think I like it. It doesn't fit as well either. I've seen people do one like that and one regular so maybe I will do that...

I'm making a baby kimono with alpaca and needed one more skein. I forgot to bring the lot number with me so now I have a very differently coloured skein so I can't knit tonight. +sigh+ I've got to get the right lot number tomorrow.

At the moment I am writing a song :)
I keep tweaking the Lyrics and the melody changes on a daily basis :')

    [Verse 1]
    I don’t know if you’re a friend or a foe
I need to learn how to let you go
You’ll always be here in the pits of my soul
Protecting my heart and fixing its holes.
Your eyes hold the truth to our digital past
We yped for hours, all the time we were masked
    [Chorus]
please don’t tell me, to shut my eyes,
Don’t tell me, how to live my life cause,
I’m pretty sure, you're messed up too,
I’m pretty sure, that I’m in love with you…
    [Verse 2]
I will cry over you, have we met before?,
Though we are strangers, the tears still fall
I wish that you knew all the things in my head
It feels like I have a heart full of lead
I need you to hold me, tell me it’s okay
It will all be fine at the end of the day
    [Chorus]

    [Verse 3]
Over time we lost contact and drifted apart
You never replied, that shattered my heart
I’ve learnt to not hold my hopes up so high
Its time that we said a final goodbye
You’re not worth the heartache anymore
I’m gonna throw you out and lock the door
    [Chorus]

You won’t tell me to shut my eyes
Won’t tell me how to live my life
Now I’m pretty sure your heart’s broke too
I know for sure, I’m not in love with you
I’m not in love with you [repeat till end]

Also I am just about to start painting an oil canvas... it will be of a bowl of fruit, I've never tried anything like it before so fingers crossed :) x

Still waiting on photos ;) If you can make that sweater you can definatly make camden. It was quite easy... though the armpits on mine were huge!! I just seamed them up a bit more though, though I still think they are a bit long.

I got two amazing books today! One's called Creepy Cute Crochet and the other is Amigurumi Knits and has insanely droolworthy stuff in it.

Can't wait to go yarn shopping and start something!
