Re: Relationships
@TheNightmare Some advice I can give you is that your better to focus on doing things you enjoy and carrying on with your life and perhaps you will meet someone within those activities. That’s a great way of starting a relationship with a few things in common. Heartbreak is hard but there is a possibility of it, but you can only try your best in a relationship and give it your all. That is the only way that a relationship stands a chance of surviving. Some girls height might be important but to others it doesn’t it’s about the personality and how well you get along. I personally have no problems with height, being above average height compared to other girls, I am usually taller than the guys I am around. Hope this helps! And I hope you find someone that’s just right for you!

Re: Back to uni anxiety
Hi @Millie2787, I've just started back at uni this week and I struggle with my anxiety too so I know how you feel. Have you got any good friends on your course? Or people who you could get to know? I find it really helps to surround yourself with a few good friends in these situations.
And as for the commuting. There's always going to be noisy people who don't obey the rules in so called quiet areas. Maybe you could think about investing in some noise cancelling headphones/earbuds? Or even just normal earphones with some nice music to drown out the noise. I find that really helpful for when I'm overwhelmed.
Anyway it sounds like you're doing great to be in your 3rd year of a nursing degree! That's so impressive. Try to change your thought processes from "what if I fail or fall" to "what if I succeed and become an amazing nurse". I hope your second week back is going ok.

Re: Having a parent who hoards
@AnonymousToe I'm so sorry you experienced something really scary but I'm glad no one was hurt
Just to say that you're totally valid to feel this way. Can I ask why you feel you shouldn't share it with anyone? Would you find it helpful to feel able to talk more about the situation?
I also definitely hear you when you say it doesn't feel right to be leaving right now. But hopefully a bit of space will be a positive for you, and you'll still be able to be there for your sister emotionally when and if she does need you. Sometimes we think physically being there is as important as emotional support, but I would guess that having you as someone who empathises and understands is an important thing that brings comfort, and that won't change.
I think it's often really common to maybe feel a sense of guilt when your own situation changes, so please try not beat yourself up about that as going to uni is a huge thing in itself to celebrate.

Re: Finishing off on The Mix
Hi @TheNightmare I'd just like to echo what the others have said but I have personally seen how much you have grown on this platform and how helpful your advice and support has been for other members- and that's what the Mix is all about!
I can understand your concerns about leaving the safety net of the Mix but there are definitely some other platforms that are suitable for over 25s that you might be interested in. One option I know has good recommendations is https://sidebyside.mind.org.uk/ which is a platform run by Mind. You still have time to browse around for which support network seems best for you.
Hope this helps

Re: Finishing off on The Mix
@independent_ is totally correct as usual ^
Just a general note that I moved this over to Health & Wellbeing. Truthfully I'm not sure where these posts should go, but H&WB feels more suitable than Help Desk for some reason. 🤔
I'm a bit swept up in other things right now which is why this reply is just a quick one, but I want to say @TheNightmare that genuinely, the growth we've seen in you here is remarkable and I'm really glad you're taking so much from this community. I'll let our other members chip in with any advice and I might circle back to this when I get another moment!
