Are you suggesting the anti-semitism that lead to the holocaust wasn't essentially the result of 2000 years of anti-semitism in Europe caused by Christianity? Xenophobia is natural. But who it is targetted at is purely the responsibility of things like religion or political ideology. Hitler was anti-semetic. But so were a hell of a lot of the European population well before he was born, directly as a result of the message of Christianity, and more specifically Catholicism.
From what I can tell, there is nothing in Stalin's ideology that would suggest a prohibition on homosexuality, beyond reasons of political control (Soviet propaganda associated homosexuality with fascism) or political manouvering (he was quite cosy with the Eastern Orthadox church, don't forget). There's a difference between that an outright homophobia, which is more of a psychological issue.
Those norms and expectations are largely based on the fact that sons and daughters meant security in old age. I can understand that, to be perfectly honest. No children or grandchildren would make life intolerable for them once they became decrepit. And to a large degree, the same could go for parents of any country in those days. Children were a life or death asset. The thing is that outside of the need to have children, Chinese society more or less completely accepted homosexuality in its society - unlike those Jewish, Christian and Islamic societies.
I believe its a natural thing that you're born with. Of course people can change sexuality throughout their life but i don't think its due to socialisation - its still too much of a "taboo" (using the term loosely) for people to be gay just to fit in.
What angers me is the people who think they can change gay people and help them to be straight as though its some kind of illness
And no, its not wrong.
If you were brought up in an extremely religious community, then you may have been taught that homosexuality is a unnatural, discusting and disturbing act as it's againt you're religion. IM NOT SAYING ALL RELIGIOUS PEOPLE ARE AGAINST HOMOSEXUALITY! But some religious people are. In my case I was brought up with a Catholic mother and Athiest father. As a family we are not religious in the least. My mother is very pro-gays and has a lot of gay friends. And I'm actually very proud of my mother for loving homosexuals so much. I think homosexuality is most definalty a NATURAL thing. Hell, my godfather's gay, my hairdressers gay, my best friend is gay. It just somthing that is in you're genetic code. There is nothing you can do to make a gay person straight. I'm a heterosexual myself, by the way. In my point of view anyone its revolting how human beings even tried to get rid of homosexuality. It scares me when people say gays should die or being gay is wrong. It makes me feel so bad for those poor men and women who have to struggle with life daily in a world where being gay is looked down upon. Those people who think if you're not straight you can't be a valid human revolt me. As for more femanine gay men; I love them. Its like being friends with a boy and a girl at once! People who rule out being friends with gay men like those are obviouslt too intimidated and don't know how to act around them.

Clueless
I like that.
I don't particularly like to see it in action, so doing it in their own home is preferred. I don't even like to see straight people doing stuff so it's nothing against homosexuals.
I don't believe that it is abnormal etc because if it was, why would God make people like that? It's not a choice they make or a lifestyle they choose. It is already chosen for them and they can't do anything about it.
People's feelings can change throughout their lifetime so who might be straight now, may be a homosexual later in life, and vice versa.
So overall, it's not a problem for me.

Not really sure about nurture. I think you are rather born with it. Even tho there might be some "helpers" (i.e. experiences, or things you see and understand in your own way, etc. you know what I mean).
Stop doing it then.
Problem solved.
Each to their own, who does it hurt? None of my business what you get up to in your bedroom or even who you fancy. As long as you happy, all the power to you.
:thumb:
But nevertheless, people should be allowed to go whatever the fuck they want, without being frowned upon, by ANYONE.... unless it harms SOMEONE ELSE, i.e. kids or the rest of society etc.
Seriously, I hope to live 100 years down the line and world be as liberal then to now, as it was now to 100 years ago...
If you catch my drift.....
it doesn't hurt anyone else does it?
I find spinach utterly revolting and disgusting, yet I find it pefectly natural that other people eat it. They're just not for me.
If you read most of his posts, he is just confrontational and obtuse. He means to offend. I wouldn't even bother getting into a 'debate' with him.
Beetroot is unnatural and people who eat beetroot should not be allowed to adopt children or get married.
True fact.
I like beetroot
