No, Stargalaxy's account has not been hijacked by a paedophile, in case you're wondering. The quote in the title isn't from me. It's something that a guy I knew at the arcades this year once said. Top bloke, but had a slightly disturbing perspective on children, to put it mildly. Anyway, on with the thread...
Tell us something about your childhood that may surprise other members.
Here's my "revelation", if you can call it that. Whilst I was at primary school, my favourite time of the week was Friday morning. For an hour and a half that day, we had dance classes. Believe it or not, but I used to be quite good at it. Between the ages of 7 and 11, I was entered into quite a few dance competitions and won a lot of them. I've still got some of those medals to this day.
Sadly, when I went to secondary school, no dance classes were available, so I had to stop doing it. However, my interest in dancing has never quite gone away. These days, if there's some decent music on, I still find myself having a bit of a dance to it. I also do that when I'm drunk, but I'm hardly alone there. During my time at halls, I went one day down to the Reception area to check if I'd had any mail delivered. Along with my mail was a leaflet for a dance club called Copacablanca. Believe me, if I was still at MMU, I'd have already signed up for classes. Still, I'll get to strut my stuff on the dancefloor next year, and I can't wait!

other than that nothing really embarrassing, other than i got caught at school for running a pornography ring, used to make loads off that. selling of dirty mags pays for lots of sweets as a child
especially swimming and gymnastics - did it for the island and i gots lotsa trophies!!
then gradiually as i progressed in highschool i kinda just stopped doing it... which i REALLY regret. especially since it was such good exercise. now im fat cuz i dont do anything!!!
If you're unfamiliar with the concept of road safety teams, it was basically an initiative by the police in those days where you had to memorise the highway code and then answer questions on it, University challenge style. To keep us up on our road safety and out of trouble, I think. OUTRAGEOUSLY geeky, I'm sure you'll agree.
I still can't believe it, how from that thing many students AND teachers in the school ended up believing I was a satanist... It wasn't a religious school either.
I don't remember (or know) how I got out of this, but even a couple of years later I still got called a satanist sometimes, and I heard that a teacher (the crazy one -I have stories about her) was convinced I was.
Does it still fit?
Freaky how many child dance prodigies we've got on here like :eek2:
Whoah! there are some scarily nuts teachers out there!
Got the best As and A level maths results in my year at sixth form. (and I know it not childhood related but I was bloody chuffed)
