Damn right, I'm happy to cook and clean for my husband, have his slippers ready for when he gets in from work.

If I get a black eye for under cooking his potatoes I know I deserve it!

I hear this rot every time I voice my hatred of feminism. Such drivel is a substitute for real thought.

    What is 'real thought'?

Well why is it a waste of a woman's life to go to work? What about women who want a career?

I see your pint, and raise you a kit-kat and roasted peanuts if he wears this :D

Back on topic, I'd like to see the programme where he airs his views, but it is channel 5, do I dare? :chin:

    When is it on?

I hope there aren't too many women involved in the production of it. Don't want them ruining society for the men.

my local wetherspoons pub doesn't seem to think so, they only have reaonsly attractive females and a camp black guy

That's the same for most corporate brands.

If you can show me someone working in Topshop that isn't a size 8 and blonde, I'll show you a woman who's lumbered in the stockroom.

Who wants to be served by fuglies?

My favourite chain (if you can call them that, they're more a collection of pubs) get the balance right- excellent ale, and really nice skirt behind the bar who do their job properly. And all their pubs are non-smoking.

I'd love Born Slippy to come to the meet. I'll bring the feeding tube if you get him the beer:)

Ok... Tell me your favourite chain isn't Wetherspoons. The one in Wrexham is full of the lowest people going... The beer is terrible on draught (especially the scrumpy, that tastes of vinegar), the service is slow and generally not very friendly and the food is too boring.

I like Wetherspoons, the ale selection in there is normally very good, they serve it well, and it is very cheap.

My favourite group of pubs are known as Market Town Taverns.

Would have thought you and GWST were too well bred for regular drinking at Wetherspoons, but then apparently there are some nice Wether's pubs according to my brother in Manchester.

More of a local pub lady myself.

The Wetherspoons up here tend to be quite good, it depends on the area and how strict they are with regards to chavs. They serve good ale at a very good price, and that is all I care about really.

The ones up here will kick out and bar troublemakers. They are very strict on underage drinkers. The troublemakers go somewhere that has music, pool tables, and allows underage drinking.

I prefer the non-chain pubs, such as Market Town Taverns, the Bodega in Newcastle and Fanny's in Bradford.

The Weatherspoons here has a police van outside it every Firday and Saturday waiting for Chav's to come out and start a fight. Always happens, too.

There is a few good Pubs round here though. Both just down the road from me, one a bit furthur away that has banned Burberry.

and i like michael burke's comment of "in 10 years time all men will be is sperm donors" - even my girlfriend agreed with it

I think the guy feels threatened myself, or has issues with women himself.

At least where I am bar work is very evenly spread with men and women and there will always be builders work out there, mechanics, perhaps not so much factory work but that isn't the women's fault. Many companies are replacing people with robots, or moving themselves abroad to get cheap labour, but as I've said before we have computer jobs now... It'll be working class men and women who will be suffering in the future as they always have.

And even so, what's to stop a man getting a job in a shop? Or becoming a nursery nurse? Or a chef? Why can't men become cleaners and do 'women's jobs', if women are doing 'men's jobs'? Why do jobs have to be typically male or female anyway?

I think it's bullshit about men being simply sperm doners in the future. Just a snipe at women. If you work to get where you are then you're entitled to the job and equal pay.

i'm for equal pay and treatment at work though :)

however im for equal treatment when it comes to the man wanting to be responsbile for the childs day to day upbringing of a child, as paternity leave is a joke in this country, whilst maternity pay imo is a good amount of time and quite fair which id like to see extended to men etc

    Evidence?

As a normal red blooded male I honestly don't care who serves me as long as they are quick and give me the correct change.

problem is, its like asking a woman what she wants, when their answer is not what you asked them, but what the most PC answer is

    You mean tact?

I think women are less polite these days because we're not as socialised in to being little lapdogs. I know a lot of women who are far from PC.

As far as this quote is concerned, perhaps this is a good thing... That people are breaking free from their previous gender roles and embracing the side of them that they previously would have repressed in order to fit society's idea of a masculine male.

I don't see why it's a problem if men want to become more effeminate or that women want to wear rugby shirts and butch it up. Why can't men cry, or groom themselves? Why can't they wear nice clothes and have a sensitive side?

How exactly does one become "more effeminate"? You're either effeminate or you aren't, and it doesn't really matter either way in modern society.

Having a fashion sense/washing regularly etc etc has nothing to do with femininity either.
And what is wrong with women chosing what we want to see and hear? At the end of the day the BBC goes by how many people view certain programs rather than what one controlling woman thinks we should watch.

Surely a balance would be a better idea?
I don't think so... Look at Top Gear, that's a car program that isn't aimed at women. All these programs like Trinny and Suzannah and Ten years Younger, all these programs and new products out put pressure on women to appear attractive rather than looking at the beauty inside them. Women do have more financial independence these days however.

And what's wrong with women trying to appear attractive  Good looks go far.

So the metrosexual men of today fit the stereotype of a 'butch' man? When a lot of them are adopting looks and styles from the gay scene?

Surely a balance would be a better idea?

Read what I said. Viewer statistics are a big influence on the BBC.
