Birthday present? Never an easy one. When is her birthday? If you said it earlier in the thread, I must have missed it.

    Give it time ... :p

As I have already said, I think an expensive present isn't the way to go. Just somethng small, a cuddly toy or something  Not an expensive hoody, bunch of flowers AND socks! Its a bit OTT.

Bloody hell, is it really this difficult to buy presents for girlfriends? Frankly, I'm beginning to see advantages to singledom. Oh boy, I'm gonna have to think...

You are spending too much money. And you're acting like you need to buy her affection. When you're older you'll realise that.

Gotta agree with this. Especially as you are spending £30 to get to her too each time. If you must get her something, get something small. But if she digs you like you do her then the only present she will want to see is you (as corny as that sounds).

Doesn't mean you should be throwing it away like this. I'm the same, but you need to save what you don't use, not spend it just because you've got it.

I am one of these people too (you just need to ask Dave about this) but at the same time there is spending money and spoiling people and there is what you were thinking of. I like to buy things for my friends, yes. However, I know when I go OTT. it doesn't sound like you do. Save a bit if you are feeling flush, put it towards a rainy day, or a holiday next year with the girl if you really must. But don't just waste it.

Well, that is my humble opinion.

That's much the same as my attitude. People are always asking me why I never spend any money. The reason: I don't want anything! Spend a bit on your girlfriend, but don't go overboard.

Not at all. Just buy the things that are listed earlier in this thread, and let us know your girlfriend's reaction.

Dude you look for flaming where there is none. If you've got spare cash kicking around then you should be saving it.
