So Prince Harry was involved in a scuffle with the press outside a nightclub last night.

The age old debate about freedom of the press vs. right to privacy for public figures re-emerges. Was Harry right? Has it got a right to privacy? Should he be prosecuted for assault? Should the photographer have been given a good smack?
Opinions please.

The last thing you want is people taking pictures of you once you're out of the club.
He's not going to be king.
Didn't Private Eye stalk one of the paparazzi photgraphers once, just to prove a point? If it was the Eye then it was something else, but I remember that the paparazzi's reaction was less thanm civilised and rational.
Paparazzi photgraphers are vermin of the highest order, and I will be cheering when every single one of the cunts is swinging from the gallows.
That is complete bollocks I'm afraid.
everyone is entitled to a private life and freedom from stalking, unless it is in the public interest. Stalking Harry into a nightclub is not in the public interest, all it is is tabloid tittle-tattle that Murdoch and the rest of them thrive on.
That photgrapher should have been dealt with by harry's bodyguards, in the most appropriate way. Of course, it is terrible of me to say that the most appropriate way is, of course, by kicking the turd up and down a flight of stairs for several hours.
Give him a break, he wants to be a normal teenager whats wrong with that?
As far as i am concerned he did nothing wrong end of story!
Just as celebrities. At premieres the they're there for being photographed. At Royal events, they're there to be reported on. But when they're out having a laugh, out doing their shopping then what do I gain from seeing them pick their nose or whatever?
There shouldn't be made laws about it. It should be common respect.
All the more pity they didn't kick him in front of a bus then.
What is of public interest and what interests the public are two completely different things. Sadly the tabloids and gossip mags use the pretext of the former to provide for the latter.
But not than his brother. No-one really expects him to step into that position.
But as has been said so many times before, the masses are complete and total asses.
Fraser, that's the one. He was so humble at the Eye's treatment of him. Dickhead.
Why?
Unless we start demanding that every student, and every JSA claimant, every public employee, has to do the same.
I really will never understand all this grumbling about the monarchy- it's far preferable to the pissing contest one gets in the US every four years.
So he should be charged and prosecuted like any young guy.
He is famous, thats part of the job. Celebreties will always be photographed. He didnt need to lash out, he isnt stoopid, he should have had the maturity to quickly get in the car.....not lash out like a thug.
As for the royals in general, the queen mum would have got a lot worse press if she'd sold one of her 'official residences' to pay off her overdraft. The monarchy is a net benefit to the country, on tourism alone.
