solid_L will understand in December when he goes on Medlink. If anyone else has been on the Workshop conferences at Nottingham University, they will also understand.
He is possibly the most motivational person you ever have the fortune of meeting. Everyone who hears his 'Winning a Place at Medical School' lecture leaves with ambition, drive and enthusiasm, and then they go away and do it. He was told he couldn't be a doctor due to his dyslexia, but he proved them wrong and even though he was thrown out of school after O-Levels, he worked during the day and went to night school to pass A-Levels, and got on an MBBS. Now he owns his own research company and gives up loads of his time specifically to these conferences, where he lectures, helps organise, generally knackers himself (he once fainted, then got up and insisted he carried on) and devotes hours to post-conference scientific paper marking, and buys ambulances for the team to use.
