Will your child not ever use the NHS before and after it is born?

Would you rather pay for all the childs health care privately and it cost loads?

    Never ever use public transport?
Your child will never go through education?

You would rather pay masses to do these in private?

You are earning, so you are obliged to pay taxes in order to support the public services, which at one point another you will and im sure you have used.

Yeah I know what you're saying, and to be honest, I agree.. In principle.

But personally I'd rather be taxed based on the services I *DO* use and not what I have or might use..

My family is covered by my health insurance, and I have a car which again I pay TAX on, I even paid TAX when buying the car, then I pay ridiculous TAX on petrol to go in the car!

And it pisses me off even more knowing how many fraudsters out there are conning the benefits agencies and spending my tax money right now !!!

If you're paying that much then the actual final wage you're left with must be pretty high anyway!

Took home about £2150 which is alright, but it's a bit shitty considering I booked in over 265 hours!!

I worked every single day last month, 9-5 week days and 7-7 on weekends !

Pah, I just hate paying the best part of a grand for tax!

And I don't see why I should pay for the NHS when I don't use it.

I'm beginning to believe this - to an extent. I think the NHS is outdated and isn't working... and I think it would be better not to get taxed on it and for us to take out private health care like most of the developed countries do. Thats only my opinion though.

thats why it would be an insurance not paying for it when you need it. It works in other countries fine!

i would be so utterly pissed off if i had to pay that much tax. i bet it feels like you've been robbed.

and renzo you can go on about how we need to pay tax blah blah blah but i'm sure you can empathise why he feels like that.

out of interest, which countries do people have to not pay as much tax? i'd just like some information for future reference.

Are you listening? I CANT FUCKING AFFORD IT!

I'm supposed to keep three people now, and a house and car.. !

    Do you work?

By the way - my attitude is far from me me me it's something like "I don't like paying into goverment bullshit"

I'd rather have my share of NHS tax back, and give half to charity.

You do know that in order to use your private healthcare you generally have to be referred by a state GP?

You can't just walk into BUPA and ask for some anti-biotics for your chest infection. You would have to see an NHS funded GP for that.

If you needed an operation and you wanted to use your private healthcare you would have to go and see your NHS GP who would spend NHS time and NHS money writing a referral for you to go private.

Basically I'm saying we should take a leaf out of the Germans book etc. and have loads of private companies and just them - no NHS hospitals or whatever

No - I go to see my company doctor, thankyou.

And even if I did, FINE!! Like I said at the beginning I know most taxes paid are fair it's just a bit of a piss off when I'm getting taxed nearly a whole months standard wages!!!!!

I can't remember where I read it once but I'm sure that at least a quarter of our tax money goes to the army etc. - thats a hell of a lot of money !

I don't think GPs should be driven by profit. I don't think any doctor should. It is when you are driven by profit that you become greedy and the care and welfare of patients plays second fiddle to personal wealth.

I would like to think people enter the health profession because they want to help people. As naive and cheesy as that might sound if you haven't any desire to help people then you're in the wrong job.

If I'm honest, my dad works as many hours as you do for less than half your wages so my sympathy is minimal BUT perhaps you will be able to claim some back if these aren't your usual working hours?

remember only what he pays for national insurence is on NHS.. (I think)

the rest goes on the army, the brittish army is what costs the most each year,

we also pay for mr blairs lovely house... his maids/servents and his stuppidity high wages, I bet he don't pay tax..

Why do we even need such a large army, Don't use it all.. We sent something like 1/10 of our army into iraq the rest just sits there..

As for people who can't afford healthcare should get it free.. I agree with this.. my mother can't pay for it as she cannot work..

I agree. State welfare is something I believe in strongly.

The NHS pays my wages but that doesn't mean the system is perfect. I think there are many people who underestimate the services available to them though and because of this they see the NHS as something they might never use.
