The best reaction I have ever had to my accent was when I went over to Madison, Wisconsin in the States to visit some friends over the Halloween break. They have the BIGGEST party over there... 100,000 people turn up...

I had a trip planned for March this year for a month or so to visit a few people in Perth/Sydney, but with me being a consultant, I don't get paid for not working and so am waiting until the contract I am working on to end before I do any major trips. I don't lose the money that way!
I will get down there at some point soon though!!

Most people go to sydney which is crappy and crowded. Brisbane is much nicer plus we have the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast (awesome beaches at both).
Australia Zoo is up this way as well (Steve Irwin's zoo),
