@Aidan (idk why what's done that but hey hopefully it still works) it definitely doesn't make you sound like a prick. You need to set boundaries and limits just like everyone should. I spent too long not being able to say no. I'm proud that you've been able to and you've been more assertive. Good for you, it's not an easy thing to do!
