Re: Tips for anyone struggling with maths at work
I guess this doesn't help with learning the maths, but at work I do a lot of reporting where I have to present lots of different percentages and there is lots of room for human error. I use an online percentage calculator which means I can complete my work more speedily and minimises me making mistakes.
Re: Vote to decide The Mix's Christmas campaign topic
In Spain, there is a Christmas Lottery every year which schoolchildren help out with. I learnt about it in year 9 and it seemed really interesting.

That’s really good and fair way to do it!
yeh when I was looking for a therapist quite a few do this. A lot of them do a free initial session too so you can meet them and ask any questions and kinda get a feel for the therapist and if you wanna work with them. So its worth checking that too. I think I met 3 different therapists at first then chose meg
Re: Do I have feelings for them
@villanelle Hi! This seems like it's a very difficult situation for you to navigate right now. It's okay to be confused, your feelings are completely valid. Do you feel safe and comfortable enough around them to approach this subject with them? It's okay if you're not, I understand this can be very anxiety provoking and stressful situation to put yourself in.
Number Confidence Week - What's your favourite hobby?

I have a challenge for you that fits in really nicely with Number Confidence Week. Have a think about your favourite hobby and how it might use maths.
For me, I love drawing and painting. I didn't think about maths being involved, but there's lots involved! When drawing or painting, you're mixing colours with the right ratios, choosing the right size canvasses or frames, estimating how much paint you need, and also understanding proportions. There are lots of ways that we use numbers when doing our favourite hobbies.
What's your favourite hobby and how does it use maths?

Re: Self-Harm journal TW
Yeah that makes complete sense, like if school is causing you stress because it's difficult, you're hardly going to feel able to focus. This is beyond reasonable
I think it sounds like a really good idea to reach out to a doctor to see what they can do for you. I'm wondering, if you want to talk about what kind of help you'd like from them xx

Re: No interest in sex because I’m depressed
Hey @Laviniavd - This is a really lovely post and some lovely supportive ideas
The only thing we would say is that it is quite an old post and the general rule of thumb is to let old posts to stay in the past. It may be for example that the original poster doesn't want to be reminded of how things were for them in the past. It's easily done though and not something to worry about, this is just a little nudge to have a quick scan of when the last post was sent before replying. If it is a topic you think should be discussed on the boards, we would encourage you to start a new thread as this means the original posters won't get notifications.

Re: Care Experienced - Ask Me Anything
How did you feel when you went into care? I know you were that bit older when you went into care and I’m always curious what impact it has on people.
Re: Care Experienced - Ask Me Anything
Really great thread idea @Anch0r33 - appreciate you being willing to share your experiences, I am sure it will help others. I guess in terms of a question, what things would you want to have told your younger self about being in care before that happened to you? You mentioned that there are quite a few misconceptions about being in care, what would you say are the biggest things people get wrong about what being in care is like or what it means?
