@Rose113 i wish they had a dark mode feature because its going to get dark soon and i need my eyes to be comfortable.
ME TOO i thought i was the only one
yeah, ive noticed that. usually the community team arent the one who make the decisions and just have to follow the higher ups. well, if there are even higher ups.
I'm very sad. It feels so wrong
@Rose113 yeah same, i thought they would just remove that part but it looks like its still there despite everything that went on today.
I agree, another reason just to leave the community
It will be closed soon probably
@Redemption im thinking about emailing the mix to delete/deactivate my account if this gets worse. i feel like this isnt the worst bit yet.
But I wonder if this would let us actually write a message and send it off to the mix though?
@toffuna101 I am too, if I could do it now I would. If its possible and anyone could tell me how to now I'll do it please, no hesitation. I'm done
i have a gut feeling that its going to be links/images. or at least links that are heavily moderated like childline. no hate to childline by the way, i feel like the nspcc is doing a great job.
Probably going to turn into the same thing as ChildLine, no under 19s but no under 19s will want to use it anyway
1. The closure of the hug thread, arguably a very helpful space.
2. Changes to the age policy which means many people have left
3. Geofencing (can just about get used to that)
4. Age verification (I’m sure we’ve all seen the thread on that)
5. A massive reduction in the size of the mod team
6. Chat cancellations
7. Bad feeling among the mod team, illustrated by a couple of reviews that were left
8. Multiple community members leaving
9. Changes to safeguarding that have meant confidentiality is broken more (though this mostly affects under 18s)
10. Disabling of PMs.
Does any of this sound remotely positive to anyone?
Ahaha @Rose113 imagine me in charge
@Redemption maybe. also i had a look at the contact us page and apparently the internet says to contact info@themix.org.uk but im not sure if its right.
No disrespect to childline at all, I found it a very, very helpful service back in the day @Redemption, but it does feel like these boards are becoming more and more like theirs. You can’t contact anyone outside of them, and all posts have to be approved before they go live. It’s fair enough for them, because they are dealing with children (some as young as 8 or 9 using the community space) rather than primarily young adults.
Tbh me associating this community with them is disrespecting them childline aren't about controlling people or about money
