    @Apollo that’s such a positive way of looking at it. I hadn’t thought of it like that, I guess when I was doing exams we all had that in common so had something to talk about. Especially during my year at college we had some of the best and most satisfying rants to each other about exams and essays because we all understood what it was like and (being psychology students) how each other were feeling.

    @independent_ yeah negative experiences are always good bonding moments if they're shared, sometimes you can look back on them fondly and sometimes not but I feel like that kinda stuff is always a good way to get to know people or a funny story for the future. I remember when I was a cowardly teenager (not that I'm not anymore) that was like the only way I could talk to the girl I liked at the time, and then we ended up talking for like a year and I learnt a lot from it. And it was good to talk about to people you were kinda friends with but didn't really know what to say to

    Oh cool I've never been to a slug and lettuce before, I thought they were just an English thing but there's one in Edinburgh that I think me and my friends are going to when we're on holiday there

    They often do 2 for 1 cocktails but you have to buy the same cocktails so what we do is buy 2 the same and then swap the second one with who ever you are with so you have 2 different cocktails
