Yeah, but it's also important to remember that any sort of filming is totally illegal in court, and always has been, and that there's a reason for it.

This guy has broken the law so he should face the consequences, simple as.

Our prisons /young offenders institutes are overcrowded. Do you not think that there are cases where a prison sentence could be avoided? Perhaps a community sentence would have been more appropriate. Personally I don't think most people would want their taxes to pay for this eejit to be locked up for six months.

Also, your comment 'why don't you guys ever get it?' suggests that you are always right, when this is not the case.

Thats completely ridiculous. 6 months is totally excessive for such a minor crime.

No-one's saying it's acceptable to break the law you ignoramus. The sentence is e.x.c.e.s.s.i.v.e

Build more prisons? What an absolutely stupid idea. The ones we have are badly managed and in dire need of renovation. Why should we spend more money building more prisons when there are many crimes which could be dealt with through tougher community sentencing?

The word you are looking for is break not brake. A brake is something used to stop a bike or car.

We do not think it is ok to break the law and not be punished, please tell me where anyone suggested this. Some of us think that crimes such as the one in question would be better punished in other ways rather than spending excessive amounts of money keeping them locked up. The crime committed is indeed a crime, and should be punished, but when there are burglars set free by the courts it seems silly to lock someone up for this offence.

it doesn't they are just banged up to do nothing and are given playstatiosn. they should be building up to a release like taking up some qualfications etc and then move away from the bad area etc so they dont reaffend. stuff like that

I think you need to do some research. Many prisoners are encouraged to do courses and take up qualifications in prisons.

I don't think people reoffend because they feel distressed for heaven's sake. For a lot of people, particularly those who have been in prison a long time they only know crime. Whilst they're banged up life on civvy street changes, and they aren't there to follow the changes. When they're released, BANG, they go back to their own ways. An NVQ isn't likely to stop a long term criminal. They're entrenched in a cycle.

It's making a point, if you want excessive when compared to the crime, go argue it in the Maxine Carr thread.

Do you reckon the judge who sentenced him was harsher than he needed to be because it was against the courts that a crime was committed. It could be argued that the court and therefore the judicial system were the victims in this 'crime' and so the judge, feeling victimised handed out a tough sentence?

Oh right, I didn't know that once someone dyslexic was told the correct spelling of a word they couldn't remember it and use it 15 minutes later. My mistake.

Well you know now don't you. Do a quick search if you fancy, find out how many times in the last week Kentish has pointed out my mistakes when it comes to the letter 'e'.
