i love wetherspoon's pubs too. the food there is gorgeous :yum: 'specially the twister fries :D

I know a lot of people don't like them cos it's a chain and all that, but believe me, in my local town, it's the best pub going!

It rocks coz the booze is cheap, the atmosphere is fantastic, and there are always friend there to carry you home :D

Plus... you can with an entirely clear conscience tell your parents that you spent all last night at "the library"... hehehehe :p

in UK, Weatherspoons for cheapness, or my uni union... both very good, here (Gibraltar) a pub in town called The 3 Owls, Happy hr number 1: 2 pints for the price of 1, between 9:30 and 10:30pm (remember a pint costs between £1.30 and £1.80) then from 10:30 to 11:30 its a pound a double, whatever double, and for £2.50 you can get 3 doubles in a pint glass with mixer :)

Mine's a pub in town called The Assembly. The quality of the food varies at week day lunchtimes. I've been drinking there since it was a Firkin pub about 5 years ago. Every bank holiday they have a House night with cracking music.

Every big England game will pack the pub out and it has the BEST atmosphere anywhere in the South of England. Rammed to the rafters, footy chants, dancing (when we win...) and much much fun!

I've got two locals, both too expensive for Bradford.
They're called The Shearbridge and The Westleigh Hotel.
The union bars are nice, and cheap, though.

In Southampton I used to go to a place called Goblets, and some pub near the uni called The Highfield (occasionally).
And can't forget The Anchor in Totton.

Weatherspoons for cheap drinks at beginning of a night out. Just wish they'd play some music in those places, or at least on a Friday night, then they're a nice warm up place for the rest of the night.

Little place called the windmill for a quiet drink. Cheap, but tasteful, always got the tv on, pool table around, quiz machines, lots of comfy seats and a freidnly local atmosphere....plus it's close enough to my house to just about manage to walk there....apart from when I'm lazy and don't like the 3 mile walk.

For a dance bar, it has to be Jam in Blackburn, but it's damn expensive.

I wish they hadn't refurbished Goblets. It was good before.
Does it still have a free jukebox?

The Dungeon  never been there, but that means going through Bevois Valley... at night :nervous:

The free jukebox went with the refurbishment :( Dungeon was a dive, but hey, something to do, Jesters was wicked, apart from the fact that when it was empty it smelt of puke....

And Bevois Valley, nothing compared to St Mary's and i got lost through there on 1 of my first nights out in Soton, shat a brick i did!:nervous:

Haha! Ya big pussies :p I used to live in Albion Towers and Denzil Ave, alone, I was 18 and I always used to go out at night! The worst thing that ever happened to me was getting threatened with a battering from a prostitute cause I was in the phone box too long for her liking. I told her to fuck off. It`s all reputation unless things have changed dramatically in the last 10 years, but I doubt it.... Is the Onslow Arms still there??

To answer the question, a place called The Barras - it`s cheap...it`s a family pub so can take the kids of a Sunday, and it`s within staggering distance!

Totally agree with you there mate! You even have to fetch your own knifes+forks and condaments (which are usually the other end of the pub!) WETHERSPOONS = SHIT

Hmmm... i quite like the Brockley Barge or The Capitol (both wetherspoons) for cheap drinks, plus the fact that i know most of the bar staff there, having spent 8 hour stretches in there on more than one occasion... one of the bar men went to my primary school! For an evening out, rather than one spent chilling, i would say either the New Cross Inn, which is open till 3, cause it's open till three, they have a DJ there on fridays and sats, the drinks aren't too expensive, and you can dance :) If i were starting my evening in New Cross, i'd be in the Walpole before going to the NXI, cos they do really nice cocktails, and it's a cool place to hang out - you can get thai food if you want it, they offer a student discount, and they have games you can borrow from behind the bar, like Jenga :D

    It might be...I forgot.
Flake_Mustaine is still in Soton...I'll ask him.

Northam's worse than St Marys, though
