I know, it's such a wonder that they made reference to building your life on Jesus in a biblical song.

I'm just amazed that they didn't sing about building your life on recently refurbished, council owned land with scope for further development which would regenerate the local area. Such a better ring to it too :(
Haha. We should rewrite it ;).

Talking about "building your life on Jesus", though, some guys were wandering around outside Boots in Colchester on Friday, preaching about Jesus. They kept coming up to me and my friend saying that we should "find Jesus" and that he'd save us and what not. I didn't have the heart to tell them that I already know I'm going to hell for having bumsex :p.

ETA: Best hymn ever is BLATANTLY "All things bright and beautiful, all creatures great and small, all things wise and wonderful, the lord God made them all...[andIforgettherest]". Ohyes.

    what the hell? why?

i used to get that Rise and Shine one in my head whenever i came on here
Because some people can't identify with a patriarchal deity.

    And, DAMN YOU!

*wanders off singing, "Rise and shine and give God the glory*

Unlikely, tbh. I find street-corner evangelists do more harm than good usually. Like Sinner-Winner man. He's gone now, but someone else was outside the Disney store on Oxford St. today and I saw the police tell him off. I laughed. I'm a bad Christian.

I just found it amusing because the guy reading from the Bible was SO rubbish. I could have sold it better and I don't even believe in God a little bit. Also because he was going on about he wasn't "a religious man", but that Jesus had saved him.

We were just like...wtf? Shut up, you stupid hobo-lookalike man.

    Isn't that from Grim Fandango?

Anyway, if we're talking about God and stuff, I like these lyrics by Savatage (you should hear the melody too, very nice):

I am the way, I am the light
I am the dark inside the night
I hear your calls, I feel your dreams
And in the dark I hear your screams
Don't turn away, just take my hand
And when you make your final stand
I'll be right there, I'll never leave
And all I ask of you: Believe

I like, "Who put the colours in the rainbow?"; I've been trying to get MCC to sing it, it's very appropriate!

We sing "You Shall Go Out with Joy" a lot - getting faster and all - which is hilarious with someone trying to sign!

And does anyone else remember "From the Tiny Ant"?

That was it! I liked it because it didn't mention god :) I was also clearly an active atheist at 8 years old! I used to not say the lords prayer with everyone else if I could get away with it...

Although one hymn I did like was that Morning has broken song... ah, I loved that :D

    No :p.

My teacher used to make us sing that every single day in assembly, though. It got *so* boring. I wanted the good hymns, damn it!
