@eylah That sounds really heavy to carry. Feeling like you’re not good enough can be so painful. You’re such a kind person and you bring so much warmth to this space even on days when you can’t feel it yourself. You matter a lot, and you always deserve care and comfort, as goes for us all.

@Redemption thank you that is very kind
Overthinking and stress can be exhausting and the fact that you continued on is something to appreciate in yourself and is not easy. If it helps to share what’s on your mind, you’re always welcome to discuss with us. It is good to hear you have been doing alright.

Hey @Nemuritai , how are you doing? It sounds like yesterday might have felt triggering and upsetting. I wonder how you're feeling this morning and how your night was? We're here with you to listen.

@Lottie5433 thank you so much for taking the time to share about what happened that night. That sounds very distressing and I can really hear how upsetting it was not only to wake up coping with those difficult thoughts, but then to turn over and see your boyfriend was not besides you. It sounds like something about that felt really panic-inducing, and it sounds completely exhausting to have been trying for so long to feel safer and to sleep, only to be waking up through the morning too with a lot of anxiety and panic in your body still. How was yesterday throughout the day in the end? What do you feel like that panic within your body might say if it could speak?

We're right here with you to listen. You're doing so well to share about this.

@Sian321 thank you so much for checking in, I appreciate it. Yesterday was kind of difficult since I had a flashback which was pretty scary to be honest. I usually don't see things in flashbacks but I end up feeling the same feelings I felt as a child and that's overwhelming sometimes. Something happened that made me feel a bit abandoned and I guess that triggered the flashback since I often felt abandoned and alone as a smaller child (though I'm okay now) But I was able to get some rest and I feel a lot calmer today. Maybe it sounds odd but one thing that helps when I feel triggered is speaking to my younger self, so I've been making an effort to be nicer to her when things are triggering or difficult. That was kind of rambly but thanks again for asking

Hey @Nemuritai , we really appreciate you taking the time to share this. The flashbacks you describe sound so overwhelming. I can imagine that feeling frightening to be experiencing feelings and memories as if you are a child again, and I hear how painful and visceral that sense of abandonment can be.

It sounds so moving that you've been able to speak with your younger self - what a beautiful and powerful practice. What do you find your younger-self needs most in those moments when that fear of being alone is reactivated?

Hope today can be gentle for you

@Sian321 sorry for the late reply. That question was food for thought honestly, so I took a while to think about it. I guess what my younger-self needs most is comfort above anything else, since I never really had anyone comfort me in the past. I suppose I've been working on that recently - giving myself what I didn't always have then, and doing things that feel soothing and calming. I've been doing a lot of that today, since I still feel kind of shaky from yesterday honestly. It still feels too overwhelming going outside right now, so I've just made a coffee here at home instead of going out to get one, and that feels much more manageable today.

@Nemuritai I find the way you’re caring for your younger self inspiring, it’s such a brave and loving thing to do. It sounds like those times were really challenging for her and it’s moving to hear the comfort and care you are offering her now. I completely understand why even small things like going out can feel overwhelming and it’s lovely that you’re finding ways to soothe yourself in ways that feel safe such as making a coffee at home. Just taking things at your own pace and being kind to yourself is more than enough and I hope today can continue to feel calm and comforting for you because it’s okay to let yourself rest.

Ive been thinking about stuff because Ive not been wanting to do anything, not want to go on holiday, go pub or football, football group get togethers if its something causing this, and these things it felt a bit dreadful getting up and having to go football or having to go on airport for a flight like the airport is overwhelming

@PetiteQuark I can completely understand why reading about that would feel really scary and I am so sorry to hear about how worried you feel. From what I know, this disease is extremely rare, and I think using tap water for wudu is generally very safe in most places I hope you can feel even a small sense of reassurance knowing you’re doing your best and we are here to listen and support you.

@Redemption It sounds like things have been feeling really heavy and overwhelming for you lately. I can understand how exhausting it is when activities feel stressful or hard to face. I don’t think it says anything negative about you at all. It’s okay to allow yourself time and space to breathe and go at your own speed. You don’t have to force yourself to go to places or do things you’re not ready for or that feel too much right now. Taking care of yourself and your needs is important and matters as well. I hope you can feel a little support from knowing that you’re not alone here.
