Struggling everyday

RedemptionRedemption Community Connector Posts: 5,273 Part of The Furniture
I’ve been continuing to feel so rubbish about myself. I just struggle to sleep every day, and I’m bored throughout the whole day with nothing to do. I feel lonely, and it’s so exhausting, so lonely, and so boring, with literally nothing to occupy me. I receive comments when I’m already feeling down, and I face uncertainty about when things will change. I feel useless, and it was even said to me the other day. I think all my family just see me as a lost cause and won’t believe I’ll ever get into work, but I wouldn’t let that happen if I were out of work permanently. I’m struggling with my current situation. I still don’t have a plan that will guarantee me into work. I have no job interviews or anything, even though I’m applying.

You have been really brave in sharing this with us @Redemption. I can hear how difficult things have been for you lately. When you say you receive comments when you are already feeling down, would you feel comfortable sharing more with us about how this looks? It sounds like people have been unkind, am I hearing this right?

We see your value and you deserve to see your value too. However, this can be very far out of reach when family make comments like you are a "lost cause" (especially when you are trying so hard to improve your situation!).

You are doing so well applying for jobs but that can be really frustrating when you have no job interviews. Have you been able to talk to anyone about turning these into interviews or have you received any feedback from recruiters?

Hey @Laura_tigger82 Thanks for saying that, it really means a lot. You’ve understood me right because when I’m already feeling low the comments hit even harder. Things like being called a “lost cause” or people doubting me just make me question myself more even though I’m genuinely trying.

I’ve been applying for jobs regularly but I haven’t had much luck with interviews. I haven’t really had much feedback from recruiters either which makes it even more frustrating because I don’t know what I’m doing wrong or how to improve. It sometimes feels like I’m putting effort in but getting nowhere and that feeds into those negative thoughts.

I think that’s why support like this is helpful because it reminds me I’m not just what people say about me. Thanks so much for replying to me.
