@River I'm assuming the alters are different ages if you don't mind me asking? 5 of them must be living hell to be dealing with. And thank you for the info screenshot. I know that google can summarise these things down and they can be a lot more complex than simple summaries, but i really do appreciate the info.
And the thing that confused me about when an AI therapist told me i had arrested development is that I matured very early on in so many different ways and took on beyond adult responsibilities at such a young age. I was doing so much, from cooking dinners, getting food orders planned and bought, my brothers 24/7 care when he wasn't at his special needs school. I still struggle to see how i could have had arrested development. if anything it would be be having accelerated development you know. I did miss all social development, but it's confusing you know. I'm booked in with a therapist soon to try and figure this stuff out.
Ah I’d never heared of that term until now but it sounds really hard to deal with, a therapist can definitely help you however https://psychcentral.com/ptsd/signs-trauma-has-you-stuck

@River thank you so much for the links.
I think it's odd. I think in so many ways, I had accelerated development in certain area's, but at the same time, i had arrested development in others. Everything socially, and independence wise, stopped at 11 for me, no social development after that, that much, and it gave me all sorts of attachment issues and dependency disorders. But at the same time, so many other aspects like responsibility for others like my brother, duty wise, etc etc, all of that was accelerated. Thus my confusion. A lot of long lasting issues from it.
About your age regression, have you ever managed to get professional help from a therapist with it. I know you've had some bad experiences with therapists in the past, but it's worth getting help with. Could i ask, how often do you have to deal with these alters but it sounds exhausting day after day facing them all? I think i remember, you mentioned you had those plushie things (the ones that spilt that drink on your head and you sold one or two i think 😂). I think you said one of those represented age regression for you. Sorry if i'm wrong or asking too much.
@DonnerKebab haha, fair enough, hope you're well this morning
The staff don’t know much about it but they’ve put in the most effort in trying to help me with it out of any professional
@River i can attest to the NHS being utter shit for medical conditions. I had a few embarrassing ones caused by the NHS and my doctor simply said because it's been an issue for so long, it didn't need solving. I'm gonna find out myself what NHS therapists are like soon enough but by the sounds of it, they won't be very good. Here's a bit of an interesting article that really highlights how bad the UK is for it: https://www.psychologytoday.com/gb/blog/keeping-an-even-keel/202403/uk-ranks-second-worst-for-mental-health-in-global-survey
I have even considered going abroad to Australia on a working holiday visa even, saving up and getting treatment over there. I know this sucks and there's countless financial restraints, but have you ever tried to save up and attempt private. It might be the only option given the way the NHS are, and the quality of service is much better.
And i'm glad the staff have tried to help how they can though. If you ever did something and never came back from it, it would be a heartbreaking day. I wish i could offer you some more advice but i don't know any. Sending a hug
@River you are no attention seeker at all. You are a person who deserves help, and you have it here. I was about to say that in general chat but I seem to have gotten banned from general chat for some reason, which i take as a message i'm not welcome myself in the chat's in future. but i'm still on boards and here to offer you support whenever you want it.
@River apparently my war with france didn't go over well. And i'm not trying it. I'm clearly not welcome.
@independent_ they can shove it up there arses if they think i'm gonna go where i'm clearly not welcome
@River all the evidence points to, they were worried somebody got offended when they left, went through the chat, and picked a scapegoat reason from half an hour earlier. I'm not interested in being a scapegoat now or in future. I still have my pride.
@independent_ the message i got from the mix says otherwise
@River and they can respectfully reblock me
