@shannon_164 just checking in on you to see how your doing friend

thank you for checking in:) i am really not great but ill be ok - i am running on literally no sleep from worrying about whether or not the mix are breaking confidentiality over something so yeah i am exhausted atm but have 3 places to go today for appointments etc:( how are you?

@shannon_164 i'm really sorry to hear that shannon. No sleep is a bugger, and on a busy day too. I know this probably isn't the best place to talk about it, but if you want to vent about it all we could talk then delete the posts after a short while, if your worried about offending the mods or admins. You really do deserve a place to vent and get this all of your chest. You shouldn't have to worry so much over the Mix and confidentiality, and i'm sorry that they are being absolute pricks by the sounds of things to you. I'm here to vent to friend, and to remind you that you are still an awesome person, just in case you forgot. Good luck with your meetings later. An energy drink might help boost you to keep you going today possibly if you need it. That or coffee.

And I'm doing alright thanks for asking.

@DonnerKebab it’s ok, it’s easier for me just to keep quiet about everything - don’t wanna be accused in the wrong again either. once before i shared how i felt ignored in chat since everyone else was getting replies from others but all mine seemed to be sent with invisible ink. i shared how i felt ignored, i didn’t say it was anyone specific, as it was just a general feeling. what happens the next day? i get a message asking why i was directing hate at the mods… if i was, i woulda made sure the mods would have knew it was hate for them specifically but reality was, it wasn’t hate nor was it directed at mods specifically, it was me sharing a feeling. but sure it’s ok for someone else to say they feel ignored, the mix are ever so sorry and take accountability for that but me? how dare i. i witnessed someone else saying they feel ignored and it was all “we’re sorry you feel that way” blah blah blah but a different reality for me. i feel so unwanted for the most part in this community tbh.

to be fair, the staff member who responded to my email misunderstood then when i explained again what the situation is he then understood. he suggested safeguarding team would need contacted and he would need to talk to community team too. i immediately panicked as i don’t need it going further. especially because in one email he said “Shannon, we're not going to pass it on at this stage. There's not enough there for us to pass it on.” but the next said “ at this stage I'm fairly sure we won't need to pass it on. I wouldn't worry.” ofc i was gonna worry… i hate how services don’t like to communicate properly in such situations:( last time the mix involved the police, i had screenshotted the whole chat (it was when they had 1-1 webchat), im so glad i did. the police said that the mix told them i had a plan to end my life and was going to act on it, i did not at all say that and even let the police read the whole chat too as i’d screenshotted it and they even seemed confused about where the mix got that info from lol

i guarantee this gets edited by staff because how dare you share a negative word about the mix for people to see but i don’t care, im telling the truth about what happened n everything so yeah ahaha

as for the appointments etc - first one is with the psychologist, i am planning on telling her how i really feel about our sessions (i have wrote it all down) but i know she’ll be frustrated because ive wrote “i don’t know” to each of her four questions for this session. i genuinely don’t know though. i don’t even want to go see her:( the second is then with a youth worker, ive never met her before so kinda anxious about that but i think it will go better than im expecting tbh, its for 1-1 support with housing as she has lived experiencing of being homeless and ending up in supported living etc so im glad it will be someone who actually gets such situations, rather than someone telling me again to just go sleep then when i wake up it’ll all be ok (fun fact, after waking up, it was surprisingly not all magically fixed haha) and then the third is our wee graduation event thing with youth workers from another place as we completed a qualification a couple of months ago now so we’re going to get our certificates etc which i’m super excited about, but also really stressing about because it’s really the end - i won’t have the “well at least we have our celebration day” because we done that already or the “at least we have our wee graduation thing” because it will be over too soon:(

sorry for the super longggg rant!!!!!

@shannon_164 Never apologise for venting here. You deserve to vent for as long as you want. It's always easier to just be quiet in the short term, but in the long term, it's 1000 times worse keeping it all bottled up. You have very valid grievances over the lack of support you got in the support chat. I was in that chat, and at no point whatsoever did you at any stage direct any kind of hate at staff. I can back you up on that point. You are right that they treated your complaint differently than others, and i'm so sorry it's been two tiered treatment here for you. I promise you on my life, you are wanted as part of this community by us. You are the truly kindest person, and you deserve all of the kindness in the world back, and i'm sorry that when you reached out you never got it.

That Mix has let you down, and for people who have had bad experiences with the police being called before, the threat of the Mix doing it again will hang heavy over them. What they did that first time with you was just cruel. And for them to have created the same anxieties again over a minor complaint about being ignored, that is cruel too. I completely understand why you've been afraid to post it on here, but i want you to know, any backlash or getting kicked of the mix for criticising them that happens, they'll have to kick me too friend. I'm so proud of you for being brave enough to stand up and speak out about this, and i've got your back however i can.

with the psychologist, it's normal to not know how you feel about the sessions, and it can take time for a person to really understand there own feelings about that stuff. That you've taken the effort to process those feelings, write them down and come prepared is effort and any psychologist worth a damn will see that and congratulate you for putting in that effort, not be frustrated. And for the youth worker, I am so glad you are getting help from somebody experienced with what it's like to go through homelessness. They will have a huge amount of empathy, and will be able to help arrange alternative living to your current situation. I think your still with your mum right if you don't mind me asking? And i still get angry each time i hear about how they said just go to sleep and when you wake up it's fine. One of the soldiers who carried princess Diana's coffin for her funeral froze to death on the streets sleeping rough. Countless people do in winter. it's the dumbest thing ever, and i'm so sorry you went through that hell only to get this answer from a helpline. hopefully this youth worker will be able to help you a lot more finding alternatives to where you are right now. And i get what you mean. But it is an achievement and a half the certificate. It isn't the end, just the end of this chapter. Your gonna be able to pursue things related to that certificate, and have the same amount of fun while doing it. You'll have a good graduation i imagine. Hopefully better than my one 😅. Plus nobody ever said you can't celebrate twice. I'm hoping you have some good goodbyes later, and a grand time of it.

Thank you so much for being brave enough to vent. I know how scary it can be normally, and i know how much more scarier it will be given that it's complaining about the Mix on the Mix, like a chicken complaining about KFC in the KFC kitchen. I'm so very proud of you Shannon. You are truly stronger than you think, and you deserve all the best. Please vent whenever you want and i'll be here to listen and offer what support i can friend, like you have for me and so many others. Sending you a virtual hug, and best wishes with your graduation later. <3

Sorry if this sounds like a rambling mess. Oh and sorry for the late response. My brother is sick, has been having meltdowns from it, including this morning and even though he's not attacking her or anybody, she can't keep up or handle him so had to ask me for help and grovel an apology 😂

@River i think it's 100% worth it. She cares for you, and your wellbeing, and I think she wants to just help where she can. This is someone who has proven she cares I think. This isn't taking a gamble, this is somebody who's reliably shown they care and helped you consistently where she can. Please don't reject her help and go and see her. Even if only to say hello.

Sorry i'm responding a bit late btw.

i will properly read your reply once i get home @DonnerKebab (thank you so much for taking the time to read & reply too) but i’m just out of the appointment with the psychologist, i literally JUST made it out of the building before bursting into tears. she promised making me feel prepared for the end, because i shared past experiences with her but she then just suddenly let me know we have 3 sessions left. as much as i hate going to sessions, im scared for being left alone again with no support as j am just being discharged. i give up:(

    @River
that's a traumatic thing to see. I remember seeing someone posted a picture of my grandma whilst she was ill and dying, and i simply thought, wankers. But a baby who passed, that's just unimaginably horrific on a whole other scale. Are you feeling okay?

@River she might decide the lead the conversation and ask a few questions. Heck you could just talk about random non serious stuff if you wanted, like how the death penalty for pineapple pizza lovers is actually justified. But what matters is you are able to sit with her, talk, and feel comfortable. Maybe she brings up topics that leads onto others, maybe you bring them up unexpectedly. You never know how it will go.

I'm so sorry there cutting the time short Shannon. I understand the fear of being totally alone and given up on, but please understand, we will never give up on you here, and you will always have somebody to talk to here. I know it's not a lot, and you feel restricted in a lot of what you say here, but please know, we care about you, and want you to feel as supported and cared about as possible, mods me damned.

Don't worry about reading the reply. You've got a very busy day, and a lot coming up, and you've just dealt with a lot and no doubt feel exhausted just recounting your life story to your psychologist only to have that bombshell dropped on you. Just do me a favour and give yourself a massive hug from me and have a grand time at graduation.

@River that sounds quite mad. I mean, i can imagine it now.

ALS report: Disruptive to the whole class for the whole lesson
You: I couldn't bring myself to sit with you pricks for longer than 10 minutes, what do you mean the whole lesson?

(I know it's not this but couldn't resist the joke)😂

But seriously, is there anyway you can prove it's a load of lies? Like teacher statements or anything to back that up. Cause that is out of order them doing that.

@toffuna101 definitely true. At my intake, i was having heart palpitations daily after the first 3 months of it and weight gain from the sugar in them. Definitely good as a 1 off boost, but avoid making it a regular thing. Your mum is 100% right and i can say that from experience.

that doesnt sound good. i definitely wont buy anymore energy drinks then unless if i receive an energy drink as a gift which will only be occasionally. the reason why i brought six cans of energy drinks was because they were really cheap at 69p each and i really liked sour apple as one of the energy drink flavours. plus online they sell them for double the price for six cans so it was way cheaper to get at home bargains in-person. so they kind of lured me in a way to for me drink more energy drinks. its a smart business move i must say. there was a deal to get three energy drinks for £1 but i didnt take that deal as i didnt know what flavour it was and the cans looked smaller. whilst the sour apple flavour energy drink had 500ml in one can which is worth it for 69p each. so yeah, they almost got me addicted to energy drinks i guess. im glad my mum and you warned me because if no one warned me i wouldve carried on drinking energy drinks. @DonnerKebab

@eylah i have now just hugged myself too. We can be twats together. 😂

The mental health services in this country are abysmal, and so many people are being discharged when they still need help. We have some of the worst and most under pressure mental health services in the world. This is a little graph showing it. You are being let down by the system, but that doesn't mean you deserve to be let down. It just means the system is severely broken. I know it's not a lot, but i'm always here to talk about anything you want friend. You might be discharged by the failing system, but you'll never be alone with nobody to speak too, cause i'm here for you.

@toffuna101 yeah, once it becomes addiction, it's hard to steer away from, and the caffeine addiction sucks, because if you stop drinking it once addicted, even for a day, the caffeine withdrawal causes headaches and all sorts. Rarely taking them is fine, taking them everyday is not, no matter how cheap or tasty they are. They used to do energy drinks for 35p, or 4 for £1 of 250ml cans. Them being cheap and needing to stay awake is what drew me in and then addiction followed. It's a slippery slop that you should always try and avoid. I'm proud of you for avoiding going down the same struggle i did.

the uk should do a study on energy drink addiction because of how cheap they are. dont they have sugar tax now where they raise the price of anything with sugar in it to prevent people from developing unhealthy eating habits? cause i think the same applies for energy drinks. correct me if im wrong. the caffeine withdrawal is real indeed. @DonnerKebab

@toffuna101 good stuff to keep yourself awake, but just make sure it doesn't become dependency, cause too much for too long can wreck your body. I speak from personal experience (admittedly it was 4 a day for several years, but the point stands 😂 )

i drank one a day for three days in a row now. it just tastes so good. i wont drink one tomorrow as my mum is starting to get suspicious of my caffeine intake. she said to not buy energy drinks anymore as it can damage my heart which is true, it can. i know thats just her way of saying that shes concerned about me. @DonnerKebab

@toffuna101 long term caffeine intake actually changes brain chemistry a bit even. Weight gain, heart issues, all on the rise. And the tax isn't a huge amount. So it's 18p per litre. So 9p for a 500ml energy drink on top of it's normal price. So essentially, it would take the price of your energy drinks from 61p to 69p and that's all. Not enough to make a difference. And yeah, caffeine withdrawal is recognised as scientific fact with medical evidence backing it up. Nobody knows the true extent of the long term impact, just that there is one.
