    @Gemma nothing mum is saying is making sense, my eldest brother is telling me a different story that is more related to what I know

    I’ve been talking to mum all morning and it’s going well I told her about my sh and she told me she will support me and she said that now things should get better now I have a family that loves and cares about me.

    I asked about my half brother that I know about and apparently he passed away last year from a car crash, I saw a picture of him, I feel like I seen him before

    How did it make you feel hearing your mum say that she will support you with what you're going through?

    I'm so sorry to hear about your brother. I can imagine this must be really difficult to process having been distanced from him too. How are you holding up after receiving that news? <3

    @Gemma at first yesterday I regretted it so much and wanted to erase making contact but actually it’s going pretty good. My friend oldest brother said to take mum as a pinch of salt whatever that means. Mum said social services made it all up?

    It felt good and she’s said she loves me multiple times which is more than I get from my current parent

    I don’t know, I didn’t really know him but I’d of kinda wanted to meet him one day kinda like I wanted to meet dad

    I haven’t told any of my current family that I’ve done this, been doing this on my own. It makes me feel guilty but at the same time a couple of years ago my current parent made it clear that she didn’t want anything to do with and said that if I ever met her she would drive but would drop me off and leave so surely it’s my right to do this especially now I’m 18?

    I can hear the conflicting feelings @Rose113. Your feelings and thoughts are valid here. As you said, now you are 18, you should have a sense of control as well. Do you feel able to talk to them about wanting to do this?

    That's understandable why you think that @Rose113. Families can be complicated and if you feel like this is an easier way of going about it that's completely okay, especially when its so fresh and new still. With time and getting to know your biological mum a bit more, you can decide whether you want to make them aware of the situation. It's completely up to you. <3
