It's really brave to come on here and share your experience with this! If you'd like to contact support services, I'll include some links that may be helpful:
- Our Crisis Messenger provides free, 24/7 crisis support across the UK. If you’re aged 25 or under, you can text THEMIX to 85258
- Childline can also be a good contact point: https://www.childline.org.uk/get-support/
- Samaritans also offer a variety of contact methods: https://www.samaritans.org/how-we-can-help/contact-samaritan/
I understand that it must be difficult within those 12 days and feeling conflicted on what to do to keep your emotions in control. Are there any other hobbies that you enjoy that can help you project your emotions?
I myself would suggest art or anything creative. It’s sometimes best to replace those destructive urges with the opposite and bring out creative urges instead. (Creation cancels out destruction) I find that that helps replace negative emotions with more positive ones.
I hope all is well with you and don’t be afraid to reach out for more help.
Why do you self harm if u don't mind me asking? I know people do it for different reasons and if u can clearly identify that reason then it might be a little easier to try and come up with solutions/distractions and other coping strategies.
Remember that relapses are a part of the recovery process, and it doesn't mean that you've failed or that you're a burden. Recovery takes time, and setbacks can happen along the way. It's essential to be gentle with yourself and seek the help you need to cope with these challenges. You can consider: reach out to someone you trust, distract yourself, Use coping strategies (like listening to music, mindfulness, exercising), hotlines and helplines.
Just wanted to check in and send you some hugs, and let you know it's really positive that you are reaching out for support on here. We are all here for you
Lots of love from my end and I hope you’re coping a bit better today!
Massive hugs,
