I though it might be beneficial to post this on here as I feel this grounding technique is incredibly value but I’m aware lots of people are unaware of how to do it! 

I use this technique when I’m feeling a panic attack is coming but you could use it in any situation. I’ve attached a photo from my journal which explains the process. It also has my own visualisation it which I don’t mind sharing as an example. The photos on the left are what I visualise and they are photos I took myself in Austria!

    This is fantastic - I wasn't aware of this way of grounding. Seriously good presentation skills too Eleanor!
    All behaviour is a need trying to be met.

    That's really helpful thank you! Also the 'Close your eyes if it feels safe to do so' was very reassuring to read. Most exercises state to close your eyes but I get frustrated and panicky.

    @ThePigeons Thank you! I put 'if it feels safe to do so' on purpose as when I do this in therapy, often it doesn't feel safe to do so. It depends what kind of headspace im in! :)

    I've done it before with my eyes open it is worked equally as well, your imagination takes over!
