Exactly. And it looks awful growing back, especially if anything ends up ingrown.
I keep it neat, but I'm not taking it off and I wouldn't ask my partner to (equally, if she proper hated having hair I wouldn't insist she grew it - her body, her rules).
When the beauty salon down the road offer "schoolgirl specials" to u16s who stop to get their foof waxed before 4.30pm you know something has gone badly wrong
Really?! Gross.
Edit: Hmmm I typed that in outraged capitals and it was modified when I posted... interesting.
Is the 'expectation that its done' thing really true?
Also, its led as much by demand as anything else. Since young girls have existed, young girls have seeked to do things they thought would make them look prettier.
I do 100% agree that the advertising targeted at youngsters is imbalanced and unfair, but I don't think every girl is expected to have waxed her vagina to hairless honestly.
I just find it depressing that an entire beauty industry has grown out of the need for porn films to show dicks being pushed in.
I work with students and, from what I hear, I think there is that expectation. The boys see it in the porn films, the girls see it in the porn films, all their sex education comes from the porn films. It's seen as something you do.
Yep, that's my impression. And not just porn, but the soft porn scenes finding their way into mainstream telly.
On mainstream TV (and I can't think of an exception) you'll always see bush precisely so you can't see pussy and in porn that's also why they generally got rid of hair was so they could see cunt (which is why as societal standards relaxed you'll see a move from seeing nothing to seeing titties in Playboy to seeing hair to seeing everything)
It's just how fashions change. Yes it is almost certainly influenced by porn films, but then different medias have always influenced the population. People copy what they see on other people, on TV, on screen, even on a porn DVD. That's human nature.
How is shaving off your bush because you like what you see on a porn DVD any worse than getting you hair cut like Rachel in Friends? It's ok to shave your face, legs, under arms etc but shaving your pubic region is too far?
We've been altering our appearance for thousands of years to fit in socially with one another, it's a normal thing to do. And fashions change, but as long as what we do doesn't actually do anybody harm (like foot binding) I can't see any problem.
However, the worrying issue it pressure it puts on young people. I trim my chuff, I like to keep it short because it's easier to keep clean. But I started shaving under my arms and my legs because by friends had. But again, I feel cleaner when I have, so I carry on.
