I've had my Trinidad and Tobago footie top shipped over from the islands.
Beckham in supporting the striker role??? Never seen that so wouldn't know
This all comes down to tactics again, as I'm seeing it it would be Lamps n Stevie making the runs into the box for Cole and Beckham to deliver. But your scenario is also correct if thats the way Sven decided to play it but thats not the way I'm thinking. I'm thinking Stevie, Lamps n Owen make up the front 3 with the 2 midfielders just behind.
Don't know why were talking about it really. We all know Sven will just play 4-4-2 whatever, or maybe the diamond (:nervous: ) if he's feeling adventurous.
So Owen, Carrick, Gerrard and Lampard, with Joe Cole just behind Owen and Becks on the right.
:thumb:
I don't think England have anyone who comes close to Rooney, you should stop deluding yourselves.
Let me get this right.
You're going to drop England's most prolific striker, and one of England's most consistent players?
And you're then going to replace them with two players who haven't had a kick of the ball all season, and a Championship striker?
Thank fuck you're not the manager.
I think I need to clear something up, I am, and always will be a United supporter, all FC fans consider themselves United fans. I renewed my season ticket for this season because I was in two minds and didn't know what to do (I knew from the first home game of the season it was a mistake). Next seasons renewal form went in the bin a couple of weeks ago, just because I refuse to pay the ridiculous prices the Glazers are asking and accept the commercialism of football these days doesn't mean I am any less United. Its time to take a stand.
I actually left half way through the second half on Monday, I've never done anything like that before, but the place has become soulless. So Sunday will be the last time I goto Old Trafford as long as the Glazers own the club. It will be an emotional day, I still can't believe its come to this but I'll take comfort from the fact that there are thousands like me and I'm doing what I think is right.
Manchester United AND FC United supporter.
Bullshit.
So which England player compares to Rooney then? Hes the most naturally gifted footballer of his generation (English).
Is that not like being a Rangers AND a Celtic fan?
Or like being a Rangers fan and desperatley wanting Aberdeen to win tonight?
Weird set of circumstances ain't it. Hibs actually wanting Rangers to win last night to chase Hearts. Rangers wanting Aberdeen to win tonight (Or a draw). And everybody (Except Hearts) for the first tim ein the history of the World cheering on the blues at the weekend.
Personally I think we've blown it. Hearts ain't gonna be easy tonight and I think your in for a humping. But saying that you've kept things tight over the weeks so shut up shop and I'll settle for a 0-0 draw.
Why have people got it into their heads that FC is a rival club to United? I would say that about half the people who goto watch FC still goto Old Trafford as well and those that don't watch the games in the pub.
FC was set up as an option for those United fans who refuse to give Glazer any money, can't afford to go anymore/never could and if you'd rather goto the match and stand, sing, have a laugh with your mates, afford to take the kids etc everything thats no longer available at OT.
I apologise. That was the impression I got. That the club was started up after Glazier bought over Utd by a heap of fans to "rival" Utd.
I think that this has shown one thing, Sven didnt use friendlys effectively. If he had done then players like Johnson, Ashton, Bent would of had more experince. As it is now out of the 4 strikers i expect to see go (Owen, Crouch, Bent, Defoe) only Owen has the key experience of playing a number of international matches. The squad id take would be:
GK: Robinson, James, Green
Def: Neville, Terry, Ferdinand, A.Cole, Carragher, Young, Campbell, Bridge
Mid: Beckham, Gerrard, Lampard, Carrick, Lennon, J.Cole, Nolan, Downing
Att: Owen, Crouch, Defoe/Bent, Ashton
Thats who i'd take, if Scott Parker or Ledley King recover then i'd take one of them instead of Downing. Ashton sneaks in because he is a different striker to any other thats we had annd Owen/Defoe/Bent are all very simliar so it would be a waste to take all 3. Joe Cole could also be used just behind Owen.
Its impossible to use friendlys any other way, nobody wants to play in them and nobody wants to watch them. Its just bad luck, can't see how anyone can critcise Erikson for it.
Im suprised nobody has attempted to blame Fergie/United, I mean how dare we play Englands best player when theres a WC coming up?
As for the friendlies, how the fuck do you use them for situations like this?? It'd be like building up to the World Cup thinking "all my best players wil be injured, lets give some people who won't even make the squad a run", which is stupid. You should use friendlies to get your team working as a team, these players only play on the same side a handfull of times a year, you need to get them working as a team, one complete unit, this is only done with practice and games together
I was hoping for a bigger bite than that
:eek2: :eek2:
Though I wouldn't be surprised if that Scottish bastard deliberately injured England's best player;)
Duscher got the blame for Beckham last time because he's an argie.
This time it seems that Prtugal are after us. First they stopped Scolari from becoming manager, now a tackle by a Portuguese playing for a team managed but a Portuguese has injured our best player... coincidence???
