My first name's Elizabeth but am known as Beth.
It's so so frustrating when people call me Bethany. It's like, a completely different name altogether.

And someone the other day called me Liz

    Ilora x

My sister gets called Lizzy though...and she hates being called anything else. We call her Liz for short. Although I do call her Bertha...which she hates ;p.

I'm joking. There's no such person as Eileen Dover or Neil Downe. And I don't believe that Ben Dover exists either.

as someone with a name that has at least 4 correct spelling variations before we even start on the wrong ones, i urge you all to give your kids names that can only be spelt one way.

i spend half my life saying 'no, with a k'...'no, with an e'...'no, with an i'...'yes, with an e on the end'.

7 times out of ten they'll still get it wrong.

Someone has to I suppose ;)

Incidentally, India is a cool name.
FrancEs is a girl's name, FrancIs is a boy's name.
I know a boy called Bailey (and everyone thought it was really weird) and a girl called Bayley Eve. Both are under 5 years old.

Funny name spelling - my brother is Padraig, which I think is supposed to be pronounced 'Porrig' (HAR!) but we just call him Patrick or Patch. I think my mum was a bit mean when she named him, our surname is Murphy. But my Nanna went round telling everyone he was called Richard. Dunno why!

Other unusual names in my family - Margeurite (my Nanna), Bernadine (her daughter), Piers (her great grandson).

I've never met another Lucinda. :(

It isn't my real name, I'm just boring old Lucy, but my parents used to call me Lucinda a lot when I was little... it then turned into Lupinda later on, which I still get called loads. :chin:

I'm not sure I believe it but mine is pretty acurate!

Although the name Donna creates an interest in the deeper aspects of life, we emphasize that it frustrates you through a scattered and emotional nature. This name, when combined with the last name, can frustrate happiness, contentment, and success, as well as cause health weaknesses in the heart, lungs, bronchial area, liver, and bloodstream.

Your first name of Donna has made you happiest when you are expressing in some creative, artistic way, and not conforming to strict routine. In a large group of comparative strangers, you are quiet and rather shy, unable to express yourself, not really wanting to become involved in conversation. On the other hand, among friends with whom you feel at ease, you are expressive, witty, and quite charming. These contrasting natures make it difficult for people to understand you and can lead to friction in your personal life. You are deep, philosophical, and refined, but your extremely sensitive nature causes you to become depressed and self-pitying over any real or imagined slight.
