That is really funny coming from the arrogant warmongering hypocrite twats
The US is the only military power that matters anymore.
I'm not so sure. Look at even north korea, a relatively minor coutnry, loads of countries are keeping their eyes there. And Israel's military attracts keen eyes from all over too. If you mean to say that America is the most dominant, I think that's self evident - but it may not remain so (who knows?). However, I for one would never brush off Russia and China as insignificant armed forces. Between them they could capture half the globe if not more.
But anyway, I think although the Russian guy said they 'dont want to intimidate' - it will be significant with concern to China vs. America on Taiwan.
The Russian armed forces were pretty good by the end of WW2, but have been going steadily down hill ever since.
lol your delusions
seriously the best military at the moment in the world is japan's they have 2nd highest defence budget and dont 'use' it
and its not all about who has best weapons cause you need the best using them - which is why i was calling for war games with the US to involve the possibility of friendly fire from them
Russia has the bet Jetfighters in Existence. FACT. Even the US Acknowledge this. China and India are hte only people buying them.
China is now modernising it's tank force to easily on par with the like of Abrams and T-90's. Fact. The Type 98 is rather good. China's only weekness is it's Navy, which, you failed to notice.
Then, lets not Forget the US isn't the only country using Laser weaponary, China has this now too. As well as the new tanks being equiped with Laser defence that makes it impossible to get a lock-on, the also now have laser systems which can blind folks. Including enemy pilots of low flying aircraft, such as Helicopters. Ho hum, Geneva is obviously ignored by everyone. So much for the backwards nation you speak of.
Their navy though is a Diesel Sub joke. Then again, they do have ALOT of diesel subs.
Though it's besides the point, it's simply not true unfortunately. America, although oft. evil, has the technology, has the expertise and has the experience.
All armies experience friendly fire it just seems America experiences it more often.
The 22nd century will be the Chinese century..........
Oh yeah?
Meet the Su-37:
It pisses over the entire USAF inventory with one engine shut down.
No its not. There's a common mistake that budget and equipment = good military. Whilst it may sometimes it doesn't always. The Japanese military remains untested, (and strictly speaking I believe they're civil service).
On blue on blue's I'd struggle to find a conflict when it hasn't happened. Even in the wars of Ancient Greece there are examples of people being stabbed by their own side. In WW2 they were about 20% of battle casualties. Don't judge the capabilities of the US army by a few well publicised examples.
but it is funny hehe
Anti Americanism cant get you out of this one, chaps.
THe US military is capable of fighting 2 large wars simultaneously, as well as securing the homeland against attack.
You all know it, the 21st century will be the American century, kjust like the 20th was.
Poor lefties! Does that make you upset?
With the new cruisemissiles that are now knocking around in the Chinese and Russian arsenals the US carrier fleets (what they place all thier dependence on) is now nearly obsolete. The fact they had to fix recent war games shows this.
But yeah, no country will be able to go against the US in a war for decades.
You'd think being an Englishman you wouldn't be proud of that fact. No one wants an American century, and if you do, maybe you should pack your bags and go to your beloved "homeland"
Need anyone be reminded of your anti-Americanism Aladdin? After your constant rants against pretty much the entire American population. You hate their faith, their belief in their country, their free enterprise and their willingness tio put themselves into harms (or the Un's) way to do what they believe is right.
I suspect much more than you. Since when have pinko pacifists been interested in guns?
So you'd rather kiss America's ass and follow their lead than try and govern yourself a bit better with your own methods?
WHat own methods? The US is essentially an extension of Britain. Unfortunately Britain has taken a turn for the worse over the years, mainly thanks to its integration with Europe on welfare and tax issues.
Wake up Matadore, we don't live in the 50's anymore. Britains decision to integrate with the welfare system of Europe reflects the general consensus of the time, there was a strong working class. You might be some rich toff, but most aren't. Britain now is a totally different country to America now and to what Britain was in the 50's, as I've said, if you want lower taxes and a "strong economy" like the USA has now then by all means go over your "homeland"
How many times do we have go through this?
Bullfuckingshit. Find a single fucking instance when I have ever ranted against "pretty much the entire American population."
Stop talking bollocks and making things up.
Isn't it a bit early to be drunk? You appear to have a bit of an issue with alcohol, judging by the percentage of your posts that are done under the influence.
Bullshit, bullshit, bullshit, and unrelated government issues.
Pinko pacifists... LOL.
You don't seem to have much knowledge of weaponry if you think the US inventory is two generations ahead or that Chinese and Russian aircraft and tanks are fifty years old. As a matter of fact both the Russian and Chinese fighter fleets are younger (and better) than the US'.
And the Russians in particular can certainly teach the Americans a thing or two about cruise and anti-shipping missiles, and would have little trouble sinking any fleet threatening them.
Hard to tell and I'm no longer in the loop on this as much I once was. But a lot of Russian weaponary isn't as good as its pictured. All technology has a tendency to break down when most needed (one of Murphy's laws I'm sure), but Russian does more than most. its often not well maintained and the Russian armed forces have a history of sloppy conscripts stealing vital pieces.
Its interesting to compare the Russia initial advance into Grozny with the US into Baghdad. The US were largely succesful with limited civilian and US casualties (though regretably some). The Russians were massacred, with some tank and infantry battalions being literally wiped out due to poor tactics, leadership and training. They then levelled the city.
Another difference is the use of professional soldiers vs conscripts. Conscript army have mass, but they often lack the dedication and skill (and dare one say ruthlessness) of professionals. All things being equal professionals tend to beat amateurs (eg the Falklands)
If you want the potential successor to the US its neither Russia nor China, but India.
They're coming of age with ballistic missiles as well. And more importantly, it's permanent state of alert and direct competition with Pakistan means the Indian military will push the envelope and continue to evolve and upgrade for decades to come- just as the Americans and the Soviets did at the heart of hte Cold War.
