Well of course it does but if you acted on everything that did that you would ban all those 'lads mags', a lot of girls magazines and a whole load of advertising.......

They didn't act on that particular complaint becuase it was in a 'humourous' ( ) fashion and because it was unlikely to offend the people that read it, i.e. 'blokes'

Weak reasoning you might say but you can't really go down the line of acting on everything that is offensive.......

i thought it was twisted, however its a satirical title for a competition that womens mags do as well under the guise of "want to improve your self esteem enter this competition"

I see nothing wrong with this.

    a) It's harmless fun
    b) All women I know could do with a boob job
    c) Nanny state

wtf is wrong with you? All women you know? Dude, seriously you must have ridiculous expectations. Most women don't go around saying "all men I know need a penis enlargement" or anything. Get a grip.

it was a tasteless joke, they dont go after magazine offering makeover competitions which can often include cosmetic surgery etc etc

it's like the independant newspaper not getting big criticism for having a "why men are crap" section yesterday which was almost entirely sexist comments

    Hmm
"Make your lady a more rounded individual with our feel-good, selfless, world-first competition."

I'd probably feel more well-rounded by not going out with someone who'd want to enter the competition in the first place!

    I didn't say they weren't.

I was merely saying that if you go down the route of banning stuff that is objectifying/offensive then you end up banning a whole load of stuff, not just lad mags......

    Yep.

The lads mags should be treated as what they are- filth. They should be put in plastic wrappers on the top shelf just like any other soft core magazine.

FHM was recently found to be more pornographic that Playboy (Source) and it should be treated as such.

I think the ad should've been in a womens mag. I mean, it's for a woman to judge whether or not she thinks she needs and/or wants surgery.

    Indeed.

    Washing
    Ironing
    Fucking
    Etc.

BTW The whole thiong sucks, it's not just about the objectification (a word?) of women, but the whole image matters approach we seem to have about our lives these days. I am what I am, if you don't like it then it's your problem not mine.

Yes, whay exactly have the issues got to do with eachother.

    Is it?

Maybe you'd like to consider objectification along with the removal of sexual taboo. "Vanilla" sex is now seen as so normal that the taboo has had to become more extreme.

Extreme sex and the objectification of women don't go too well together, unless you like your women beaten and raped.

I may well regret this, but whats 'vanilla' sex?

Vanilla sex is what those in the S&M commiunity call not-bondage sex, I believe.

Basically it means normal and plain, a lot like the flavour, really.

Well I don't really see where extreme sex comes into it

A bit off topic don't you think, I am sure there is a link but it doesn't really directly relate to what we are talking about........

No, I accused you on a specific thread in specific circumstances. However, it doesn't surprise me that you don't see the link. You do appear to have problems in making connections between things.
