What is "britishness"?

Could anyone enlighten me as to what qualities that Britain has that are shared by everyone in Britain? And that are exclusive to Britain (i.e. aren't shared by those dirty foreign bastards)?
And, even more to the point, could someone explain how you then "respect" these qualities?

Being "British" is just a generalisation.
the queen is a nice person realy and loves all her children more than her animals!
Roast Beef and yorkshire puds for dinner on a Sunday
if your under thirty it's curry or pot noodle!
saw some program about some guy who moved to spain cause old east london was full of foreigners 'not fitting in' and he goes andlives in a bloody place full of brits in spain, he learnt spanish to be fair, but he in no way gave up his 'britishness' yet he fails to see how other nationality people do the same as him
Goddamit I miss home!
Drinking tea I agree with, god I must have about 20 cups a day
take a look around ...the nearest thing to it is the yanks.
our flag ...which some people want to change ...is almost friggin psycadelic!
I had fun presenting an Irish theme to other european delegates and will enjoy presenting Cornwall next year with pasties, tractors and such like
with a country with so many denominations and people contributing we cannot pin point one particular description a lot would depend on where you live and socialise.
my idea of britain would be different to that of a londoner (kinda reminds me of town mouse meets country mouse - very good book to teach children about geographical differences.) my idea of britain is a place with big open spaces, smelly farm animals and clean healthy air and a gorgeous sea breeze however to someone else it may mean big tall buildings, civilisation and 24 hour shops
To many it could be chicken tikka, chinese, pizzas, fish and chips, yorkshire puddings or my favorite pasties.
its nice to have such a variation, i would get bored of the same old thing over and over again!
I havent had one for over a day!
what is wrong with me!
1)Rain
2)Tea
3)Cricket
4)Sunday roasts
5)Fox hunting
6)Funny accents
7)Imperialist bastards
Though they're not uniquelly british things.
Eh...Ireland is not part of Britain, Northern Ireland is, the whole island isn't.
Well by that logic Britishness is an amalgamation of all four. Even though it's not.
I dunno, but not having a cuppa in over a year :eek2:
Go see the quack
Yep...though I prefer 666...got a better ring to it :thumb:
