the first thing to fall is going to be the tetleys tea bags place

Queen Victoria,
I'm not much nourished by modern love,
will you come into my life
with your sorrow and your black carriages,
And your perfect
memories.
If only it was my madness or drugs......
Queen Victoria,
the Twentieth Century belongs to you and me.
Let us be two severe giants not less lonely for our partnership,
who discolour test tubes in the halls of Science,
who turn up unwelcome at every World's Fair,
heavy with proverbs and corrections,
confusing the star-dazed tourists
with our incomparable sense of loss.
The great Mr. C has gone for a lie down in a darkened room .....
Drugs, tea and war
tutt tutt
and no, it isn't a train
so do i if i want a cup of coffee
but i want tea, tea for me is a refreshing drink, coffee is an energy spiking drink, well not so much energy but caffeine
If your country is overwhelmed by a vastly superior force then there is little point in attempting resistance militarily at that point. You will just be shot or otherwise killed or detained.
Your best bet is most likely to wait it out and then attempt to organise something after the new system is in place, unless you decide that it's no worse than what you had before, which for most people may well be the case anyway.
Assuming the country I was living in was formerly a democracy and was invaded by a tyranny then I would like to think that i would resist.
If the country was a tyranny and the invaders intended to establish democracy then it would not make sense to resist.
If it was tyranny invaded by tyranny then it would also not be worth resisting.
I would never take up arms purely for a nationalistic/patriotic reason.........
Could someone/anyone tell me the/any difference :chin:
Knowledge is power...so I`ve been told.

I would resist by any guerilla means at my disposal, and that would include targetting any and all fellow countrymen who gave aid or comfort to the invader, just as we see the Iraqis legitimately doing to those who collaborate with our forces and corporate pirates.
Equally, I'd refuse to fight any dirty, unjustified wars my country decided to engage in.
Would you agree to fight any "justified" wars "someone else`s country" decided to engage in?

By SELF defence,do you mean the individual self,or some abstract notion of MY (fill in the blank with any group/clan/tribe/race/country etc.,etc.) ?

But I'd rather be court martialled than fight people's dirty wars.
Desertions in the US army are running extemely high at the moment. It's no coincidence.
Thus by example, WWI & II were, for our part, justified to curtail the expansionist ambitions of the successive wars of aggression waged by Germany. All other militaristic pursuits subsequent to that war, again for our part, were themselves acts of trans-national aggression and thus not justified.
So,is "war" a size thing ?
Can a "nation state" be an individual ? If not,why not?

But yes, I would. I'd fight against anyone who Invaded, unless they had good cause to, e.g: Sorting out a problem here, and being honest about why, e.g: REAL Liberation. Unlike Iraq. If htey invaded to just take over, I would fight by whatever means necessary, probably a Guerilla War.
