I am guessing it takes alot for them to do that. I wouldn't want to.

possibly, but that's a different issue.

if the person in question was in education at the time (and still going to their lessons), they wouldn't get any extra.

Well no, I was just pointing out that you probably could get benefit because of a mental health issue.

Though you're right, it doesnt apply to this case.

i don't know. If you're on about the DSA, it's quite specific, and it's mainly to cover specialist equipment and the cost of a support assistant, which obviously wouldn't apply.

there's a general allowance part which you possibly might get (i didn't), but it's not a lot, at all. certainly not enough to live on.

nail on the head there ;)

my best mate got an allowance for specialist equipment cause she's dyslexic. but she didn't get money (not sure if that was the uni intervening or not) she got the equipment, so if you were planning to claim you need specialist equipment and then just not, it might not work.

it depends on your needs, i guess.

Just to pick on something I'm sure Trinity said mentioned in a question...about lone parents and their wage being not enough to support, I know that my college has like, a student support system where if you if you have a lone parent whose earning under a certain amount, they have money to cover you for like, books and trips and stuff, I don't know what else that'd apply to (accomadation etc...) but when looking around for colleges year and a half ago, alot of places mentioned aiding with accomadation issues, some even have accomadation near them at 'reasonable' students rates, you'd have to ask the place you're intending on going to.

And the Mr Mist thing, you mentioned earlier that you thought admitting to it being you would probably cause a rucus, Misty was adding a little humour, don't get up on your high horse and all uppty about it because it just meant you kicked up the dust that you said everyone else would

Hope what I've said helped a bit

    Good Luck
