Don't forget that they were apparently smoking weed before as well, which is said to have made them violent
they went bowling too before shooting the place up...
"dude you beat me again, i'm angry, let's hold hands, go listen to some manson, play some doom then shoot up those jock ****s at school!"
'...'
"no really, i'm serious"
'...only if i get to be the daddy'
is digital/audio/visual ...the new god?
the teacher.
the way.
the truth.
what happened to differentiaiting between entertainment and ...the fucking real grind of the world?
i vote for a cull, starting with chavs. face it, they're not as cute as baby seals.
No, it's just a convenient way to shift responsibility.
"We brought up our children properly, it was that terrible rock and/or roll music that turned them into murdering nuts. Now excuse me, I have to go count my arsenal of lethal weaponry........"
if sting dies tommorow ...is that the fate of the rain forrest sealed ...i think fucking not.
they are artists ...showmen ...enterfuckingtainers ...banjo players ...troubadours ...gypsys and thfucking thieves .. they are not gods or prophets ok?
the words they write are poems ...tunes ...songs ...nothing more.
cos these days they have a global audience cos of technology ...seems to invoke some kind of godship.
why can't some of todays youngsters see that?
I have to agree. More wisdom from Mr Roll.
I don't think you're going to get better quotes about this stuff than from Frank Zappa and the "porn rock" court cases.
"I don't think there's a problem. First of all, I don't think music turns people into social liabilities. Because you hear a lyric -- there's no medical proof that a person hearing a lyric is going to act out the lyric. There's also no medical proof that if you hear any collection of vowels and consonants, that the hearing of that collection is going to send you to Hell."
"I wrote a song about dental floss but did anyone's teeth get cleaner?"
Healthy? Look at the number of young people with mental health problems nowadays. I really do despair at society today, and I suspect things can only get worse, so much worse.
i'm someone who grew up on zappa ...but he was just another fucking troubadour ...doesn't make him any wiser than all the other fucking hippys ...these things are now happening without a doubt!
And that's just the attitude to make sure it will happen. :thumb:
That's true but I still wish Frank alive. We need someone like him. Who have we got now? There is no one to stand against the bullshit and be as articulate as Zappa was. If only he had actually ran for president........
RIP Frank.
Whatever, I doubt a song could affect so many people that much... I do and did hear sad songs, but they never made me any more sad than I was, just helped me cry a bit easier.
Though I had turned into pretty much a big rebel (in theory) when I was listening to a whole lot of Helloween songs, like "We got the right" and "Power"...
You'd be suprised the sort of effect music can have on people ya know.
I saw that while doing a number of illegeal substances. I... ohh it hurts just to even think about that period of time. Just alot of confusion and... yea...
Who the fuck thinks of shit like that man. It's sick. Genius. But like sick genius... Which is in no way related to mad scientist.
*agrees* that film fucking rocks. The ending where you see his foetus dying is the best though, the other endings suck donkey dick.
I watched the film on mushrooms. It was seriously fucked up. I watched it off mushrooms and nearly cried. The film fucking rules.
I don't know why, but when I read that, it was like the hottest thing. Like I just pictured my guy, saying that in the dark all stern
sorry. will stop typing now
And critics blamed that for a higher suicide rate? Did those same critics blame Mr Blobby for an increase in stupidity and pink clothing amongst the public during his xmas spout at Number 1 several years back?
I actually thought it was a great song the Gary Jules one, got it on one of my chillout albums, its a reflective song and makes you think about stuff..
Two of my favourite songs for reflective thinking are:
* A Man Called Adam - Easter Song
* All Saints - Pure Shores
The All Saints one is a bit of an odd one for me, but I canned it during a difficult time I was having, it was like an escape song! Easter Song just reminds me of moving to NZ, unexpected journey, going somewhere tropical.. its excellent for relaxation!
No....is it good?
