People are banned too. I think it's anyone who won't be able to keep up with the traffic is banned, so if your car only does 40 mph, forget it.
Don't be, things tip over when the centre of gravity is outside the width of the base. Double Deckers have a really low centre of gravity and I think the tip angle is something like 30 degrees to the floor.
No, because all the weight is in the axles (at the bottom). The people are practically nothing compared to the great hulk of metal under the bus.
thats me being blonde again then!
*nods* these things are normally taken into account by engineers.
 at school we use to get the dumb kids at the top of the bus pushing/leaning to one side trying to tip it  would never go,
easiest way to tip a double decker is to go round a large corner VERY fast
Aye, I'll just go and do that then.
Adverse camber
so it could happen! would be fun to see the outcome
So speaks the mech engineer trainee...
Considering you can do that in a landrover at 45mph... *shrugs* you work it out.
so it could happen! would be fun to see the outcome [/B][/QUOTE]
it could happen, but then going round a corner at high speed would have the same effect on any vehicle, because of the physics.
Mmmm, physics.
:crazyeyes

Not really because a double decker couldn't get the speed, well probably couldn't / wouldn't get the speed to do it, i think it has to be 70-80 maybe 90mph
And mist i never said do it, just saying it's possible
I don't actually have a bus to do it in anyway.
Hellfire mate, it doesn't have to be going that fast, it depends on the corner and the lean contained therein. 45 on a 90 degree adverse camber and you've got no chance.
But 55 at a 5 degree bend you'll be fine.
yup, stick a bus going round a roundabout at 60+ its a goner
Alternatively transplant the roundabout in france, stick my mother on said roundabout in her beemer and watch the cars fly...
lol.. dunno what the fuck you mean but sounds funny
My mother got so pissed off with french drivers once she pulled straight onto a roundabout without looking, jammed her hand on the horn, went round twice with her hand still on the horn, then pulled off at the exit (for Carrefours at Caen), wound down all the windows and stuck on a recording of the 1812 overture very very loud.
pmsl
your mum sounds like a classic! fuck thats brilliant! what was the outcome of it? my brother nocked his 3.25 beemer right off a roundabout the same weekend he bought it! he he
No real outcome, she just satisfied her anger.
She once managed to leave Bordeaux at 9.00 and arrive at Calais for 20.00 with two half-hour stops and massive traffic jams in Perigueux and Rouen When you consider most of this was off the Peage, it was quite impressive. She did do 95 down the peage at one point though.
'Twas quality. I want one.
