    emo - short for emotional
kinda like indie but more rocky and with a flatter sounding vocal line

    par example

    hot water music
    the juliana theory

    decent emo bands:-

coheed and cambria (seen them live-fucking awesome!)
thursday (same gig as coheed and cambria)
    mineral
    hot water music
funeral for a friend (been following them since the start coz they're my local band :D)
    further seems forever
    jetplane landing
    planes mistaken for stars
    texas is the reason
    atom and his package
    jimmy eat world
    the juliana theory
    dashboard confessional
    hell is for heroes
    finch
    glassjaw

and the BEST emo band EVER is/was
    At The Drive-in

    d/l these songs:-

at the drive-in - one-armed scissor, hulahoop wounds, rolodex propaganda, proxima centauri

    mineral - parking lot

glassjaw - cosmopolitan blood loss, radio cambodia, tip your bartender

finch - stay with me, letters to you, what it is to burn

coheed and cambria - the devil in jersey city, delirium trigger, time consumer

funeral for a friend - juno(not juneau, which is the rereleased version of this. the original is better), bullet theory, red is the new black, kiss and make up(all bets are off), bend your arms to look like wings and 10:45 amsterdam conversation

That's pretty much all of my favourite bands; and i think that 'Stay With Me' or 'What It Is To Burn' by Finch are my all time favourite songs.

Do you prefer the original 'Red Is The New Black', or the re-released version that's on Casually Dressed? I've been discussing it with one of my friends recently, and he thinks it's an outrage that they changed it so much. We're both big FFAF fans though.

the original. i also prefer the shouty, screamy original cut of juno coz its much more fun to mosh your ass off to :D

on another note, why on earth are Funeral For A Friend supporting Iron Maiden.

they have absolutely nothing in common, and they are unlikely to win over the crowd, as there will be a lot of sterotyped older 'metalheads' there.

They're both on the same record label and Maiden wanted a group of bright young things to support them, no doubt to pull in more young metal kids and make them appear to still be relevant and "with it".

Saying that I still think there will be a fair few young people on the tour.
