Ok .. i got really bored today and looked through some old school reports.
i was told i was a 'quiet and reliable girl' in my earlier years..and was 'insecure'...later i was told I was 'brash and overdramatic' and then later still 'intelligent and hardworking'.
Do you ever wonder if these teachers even know who you are??????
It seemed thate very year our teachers would write teh same things about ever one just with our names changed.......
And that maths teacher who said i was brilliant - god what was he on?????

Any memorable comments youve had made about you?

Heh, my PE teacher was annoyed with me because I wouldn't join the hocky team. She wrote "Clare needs to increase her overall fitness levels. For example she could join the hockey team"

It made me laugh cos at the time I was going dancing 3 times a week, swimming once a week, playing badminton and running around at guides :)

Sounds like you'd be all tired out by the time you go to class??

My Aunt's worse subjects were always Maths ... funny though - she became an accoutant!!

i always used to get :

'handwriting leaves something to be desired' (interestingly it's quite neat now)

    and

'needs to make more of a contribution to class discussions'

the most memorable, in my GCSE year geography report:

'katherine needs to realise that if she continues to approach this subject with minimal effort, she will fail her GSCE'.

    how wrong was she? (very)

I just found my Year 10 report.

    French:

"First class! Clare is an exceptionally gifted student who always gives of her best. It has been a pleasure to teach her as she listens to every word I say! Well done!"

 heh, i was the only person in the class who actually liked French!

My last school report was summarised as 'indeed an exemplary record of achievement'

Apparantly I also have 'a maturity and determination that is beyond my years'.

    Heh :)

Mine always said things like 'Sarah should spend less time talking and more time working'. I remember my Year 11 report for English just before our GCSE's...my teacher said that I was heading for D's in English cos I talked rather than listened....got 2 A's so shows what they know :p

In year 11, my Art teacher predicted me to get an E...didn't think I was very good. Well, I went and got an A :D

Up until yr10, I was a bit naughty, so they'd say I need to try harder. After that they were generally good :thumb:

I had one teacher who used to write "Lynn should not rely so much on innate ability." every year. Well, why not?! I still passed the bloody O`level (yes, I`m THAT old) with a B grade.

I have all of 7 lines from my form tutor because I was a naughty boy at school.

    Attendance for period: 17.04.1996 - 26.03.1997
    Number of total seesions: 370
    Number of authorised absences: 64
    Number of unthorised absences: 19
    Total percentage attendance: 82.7%

That was the last year at school. In the 3rd year I think it was @ summit like 36% attendance. Tut tut.

Haha, I always nattered in class, and flirted with the lads. :\

"Rebecca is a keen worker, however, she must learn to seperate socialising and class work. She seems to enjoy both at the same time more than others"

That usually was me until 6th year. :p

"Brian is a pleasure to have in the class".

    Until about 4th year.

Then it was "Brian seems to be distracted very easily"

Then in 6th year it was "Brian needs to attend more"

    Oh dear.

Lmao. My principal phoned me at home in 6th year..

    "Rebecca, your attendance is abysmal!"

    Har.

    "Well, yeah, I've like, left."

"Ohh, ok, well, bring in your books and whatnot, and we'll take you off the register"

    "Okay dokie."

    lmao.

Proof teachers don't actually know/care what they're writing about...

    my year 11 report... RE

"Nicole has shown that she has an organised range of relevant knowledge, including specialist vocabulary. Nicole seems to have little or no recall of the topics studied"

I always thought he was a bit mad, the second was probably more accurate about me in RE though!

Another that makes me laugh is maths...

"I am pleased with the effort put into the first coursework task"

hehe he had to chase me around the school for six months to get me to hand it in!

I was good at most of school though honest!

My last set when I left school had some classic comments...

But the best quote has to be from one of my geography teachers,

"His handwriting resembles the trail of an arthritic spider crawling across the page"

The most memoriable thing written in a school report for me was when my Year 1 teacher said I was stubborn. I refuse to believe that I was a stubborn 5 year old! Nowadays, it's all 'ask for help' and 'join in class disscussions'

'Sara is an exceptionally bright student but needs to pay more attention in class and not get distracted by those around her'

'Sara could do very well in this subject if she applied herself more'

'If i ever saw any of Sara's work, i would be able to give an accurate prediction of her grades. Unfortunately, as she has not yet handed in any, i am unable to'

That's basically what was written on every school report from years 7-11. 6th form was better, but still not brilliant!
