My parents won’t let me live with them unless I tell them all the dates of all my mental health appointments

    hey @nem 🙂

that really unfair, and i’m sorry they’re putting you in that position. you deserve support and a safe place to live without having to give up your privacy and share things like dates of mental health appointments, unless that is what YOU want, not your family, but YOU. your mental health is your business, and it’s not right for them to make that a condition for having a home.

do you think there’s any way to set a boundary with them, or would that just make things worse? if you don’t feel comfortable sharing everything, maybe there’s a way to give them just enough information to ease the situation without sacrificing your privacy completely?

whatever happens, you’re not alone in this - we’re all here for you <3

I mean I’m planning on cancelling my next one, I’m not lying if it’s not happening

I have an appointment scheduled for Monday
I never wanted to go to it in the first place
    I want to cancel it

My parents have not been told the date of this appointment unless there has been a mistake with the NHS, they took me to A&E without telling me the other day and then got me to agree to outpatient treatment because they were threatening me with homelessness

I can hear how your family are trying to care for you @nem, even though it may not feel like care. For you, it sounds more threatening than support, am I hearing this right? Have you talked to them about how you feel with these rules? I am hearing all the other rules appear okay for you at the moment but attending your mental health appointments is particularly difficult.

Having to tell them when all your appointments are is potentially a sense of additional pressure. Am I hearing this right - is there anything which might help the mental health appointments to feel more accessible and comfortable at the moment? We care about you and are here to support you <3
