    Hi summerjune,

I know it can be scary when themix gets involved like this but they do it to ensure your safe but also that it won't happen to anyone else. Like yes it happened 3-4 years ago but it should have never happened.

Themix and its community are always here to help and sometimes rhat does mean reachinf out to external people like 101 - usually they will contact you via email to say what they have done.

I hope this experience doesn't deter you from gaining support from the community and that you are always welcome here

@Summerjune15 hey, i totally understand how you’re feeling as having other services such as the police being involved isn’t always necessarily a pleasant experience!! i’m not 100% sure but would imagine that it could be in relation to someone in a position of trust saying about hurting someone - however, i don’t obviously know for sure, i just know that if you are at risk of being hurt by yourself or someone in a position of trust or for legal reasons eg a court case then confidentially has to be broken.

if you are wanting to delete your account you should send a message to @TheMix and advise them that you would like your account deleted - i think!

i hope you’re ok and please know that how you are feeling is so so valid!! sending so much love your way🩷

I just really really can’t talk to the police I really can’t like if they told the police without mentioning me then that would be fine but I think they did mention me I don’t know if they did or not

@Summerjune15 thats understandable that you think talking to the police is scary, but just remember you haven’t done anything wrong!! we’re all here for you🩷
  • Summerjune15Summerjune15 Posts: 86 Budding Regular
I’m not talking to the police do you really think I’ll have to talk to the police will they come to my house etc
  • shannon_164shannon_164 Posts: 513 Incredible Poster
@Summerjune15 i can’t for sure say what’s going to happen - did the mix inform you that they had to share what you said and explain any of what might happen? i know you said that you’ll have to talk to the police now apparently, did whoever tell you about potentially talking to them have any more info about it maybe?
  • Summerjune15Summerjune15 Posts: 86 Budding Regular
It’s freaking me out more than I have no clue what’s going on etc but how do they know my address etc personal details
  • Summerjune15Summerjune15 Posts: 86 Budding Regular
No one said anything about talking to the police they just said they have to let 101 informed and it will be investigated
  • shannon_164shannon_164 Posts: 513 Incredible Poster
    @Summerjune15 i hear you🩷

i know from my experience of volunteering with shout that when someone is unwilling to give their information or has ended the conversation but is at risk that supervisors / safeguarding can work with emergency services to locate the person to make sure they get the help they need - i don’t know exactly how it’s done unfortunately though - i would imagine the mix would be a super similar process though with the merger happening! i hope that’s of some help to you:)

But if it was years ago why do I have to have police at my house why can’t they just tell 101 without getting me involved

@Summerjune15 i get what you mean for sure and i would say that you would be best to ask the mix staff team more about it as they would be in a much better position to help you than what i am obviously!! always here for you though🩷

I have messaged them don’t worry they just haven’t gotten back to me it’s been 3 hours since I messaged them but I did see that they aren’t monitored or something like that on weekends so what if the police come before Monday I should have a say if I want to be involved
  • shannon_164shannon_164 Posts: 513 Incredible Poster
@Summerjune15 i hear you - i would imagine that they would get back to you before monday as they usually reply within a day or so! i’m wondering if you would be able to email them? you could set the email’s importance to ‘urgent’ so it might be seen quicker, that could maybe be an option for you?

My friend did just message me saying that sometimes an investigation doesn’t have to involve someone so hopefully that’s the case for me too

You don’t have to tell the police anything if you don’t want to. If they turn up, just say that you don’t want to report the incident. This post will prob get deleted but it’s ridiculous they reported it on your behalf when it happened years ago as if you don’t have a say in what happens. This new confidentiality policy is mad😂

They are not meant to be unless it’s an emergency. So they should never be using the non emergency line. Now they are just making everyone feel this isn’ta safe place. Iam pissed off cause Mike and Aife would never

“And when they look at you, they won't see everything you've been through. They won't see the **** that turned to scars that began to fade with time. They won't see the heartbreaking things that shook up and changed your entire world. They won't know how many tears you cried or even what it was you were crying about. They won't see how strong you had to be because you had no other choice. What they will see though is how compassionate you are because you experienced pain. What they will see is how kind you are because you experienced how cruel the world is. What they will see is how good you are because you've seen how bad things or people can be. The difference between you and your experiences are who you choose to be, despite everything that could have turned you cold and unkind. You are the good the world needs and the best of us.” ~ Kirsten Corley

Because I was sharing about my support worker who is lovely and even emails me out of work hours to check on me. I’m soo pissed off tbh I’ve used this place for years and never been so pissed of at their decision. It’s meant to be a safe confidential place

Ah, you’re right like. I’m surprised that this has happened because it makes no sense lol. Like it’s terrible what the police officer said but it was years ago and you’re your own person, sure , you can decide if you report someone or not.

If they turn up, just say you’ve not a clue what they’re talking about and you didn’t report anything and you don’t even use the mix 😂 They can’t force you to say anything. The Mix have essentially then just wasted police time.

    This merger is 💀

They said it’s amazing and a big step in the right direction for mental health when in reality, all it has done is push away amazing staff who genuinely cared about the cause (Gemma, Aoife , V) and ripped away our voices & confidence. The only benefit is probably the funding .

@Faolan That’s the problem I can’t talk verbally to people I don’t know it’s hard to explain but especially not the police I thought the mix was to help my anxiety but it really isn’t cause I’m freaking out like heck over here😅

The mods need to have a chat about what their confidentiality policy means

I think I’m going to leave here soon anyway.

I’ve never known them to contact 101 and now done it twice in the space for the same day.

think they’re miss judging our capacity to make our own decisions on that
